K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

Unless Suin isn't her father's biological daughter either. These dramas do twist and turn a lot when they're ready. It'll probably be revealed in the end that the father married Suin's mom and accepted Suin as his own or something.

Suin is 1/2 sister to both Sumi and Junho (they share a father). Jisu is 1/2 sister to both Sumi and Junho (they share a mother). Jisu and Suin are not related. Sure is confusing... They did mention tonight that Suin's mother is deceased.

Also, someone thought that the scene with Jisu and Hiro playing at the playground was cut out of the 8:30 time. On KBS World it showed them playing on monkey bars and all I could think was. ... I've NEVER seen a woman playing on monkey bars with high heels on before... Hiro again told Jisu how he felt. He also said he would give her time to feel the same way towards him and that he knew he was not in a position to offer her anything at this time in his life..

Good episode tonite... It's clear that Hyeonsu is struggling with his feelings for Suin. He still loves her but realizes she's been through so much and he doesn't want to add to it (if he tries to be with her again she will have to deal with his mother's disapproval).

The girl with the baby is now willing to go on the talk show. She's trying to reach out to her parents. I can't imagine how horrible it must be to be the only one in your child's life. I hope her family comes around soon so they don't miss out on the joy that little baby will bring.

Jisu's mom (Dr Mom) has already shown displeasure in any possible relationship between Jisu and Hiro. He is not Korean so she doesn't feel he is suitable. Also, he's a model.. Not exactly the career a mother would want for a son in law.

Jisu tells Hiro there is no way for them to be together... then he kissed her...

And Sumi finds the photo book. I don't understand why Sumi's mom didn't take that photo book back to Dr Mom if her decision was to not claim Jisu as her daughter. Instead she risks keeping it in her drawer.

The other family members are going to make it impossible to keep the Jisu secret much longer, and if Jisu asks I don`t think the elders will lie to her. I think she can come to terms with it once she learns all the facts.

Good episode. Wonder about Hyeonsu's comments on Hiro not being Korean, regarding Jisu. Considering how many white males are involved with Asian women...especially, Korean, I suspect....I would think the inter-racial dating thing should be a non-issue? Or, is it still "taboo" in Korea??

Looks like Dr. Dad is getting his memory back. Nice of Minsu to not lay blame on Miryeong for her mom's financial troubles & insisting on letting his MIL keep her pride....I still don't really like him though, LOL!!

Seems like Jisu's assistant (Jinyeong?) is jealous of Jisu's relationship with Hiro...seems like she wants him for herself!! She is VERY cute, too!!

Looks like Sumi is going to find out the truth about Jisu & her mom...and then the fireworks will really fly!!

LOVED how Hiro went for it...the kiss...at the end!! About time, and I'd do the same, especially considering how cute Jisu is, LOL!! Hope she changes her mind about ending the relationship!! They SOOO belong together!!

No-o-o-o-o-o....Jisu and Hiro don't you know it is fate? You must be together......Suin and Hyeonsu, it is your destiny-to be together.

Bette Davis (as Theda Bara) once said, hold on, it's going to be a bumpy ride. Hopefully, in the case of Jisu & Hiro and Suin and Hy, Love will triumph over all.

It's not fate. It is the wish of the writers and director. The outcomes are so obvious. The only suspense is how it and when it happens.

I think it was Bette Davis in her star role in 'All about Eve' and the line was..

'Fasten your seatbelts*..It's going to be a bumpy night.'

It was a great movie in that day. I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Brad6: Loved 'All About Eve'... Nothing like those old black and whites.... emoticon

Har1102: Yes to fate for Hye and Suin being together.. I'm not as confident in Jisu and Hiro ending up together, even though in my heart I hope it's fate for them too. The person that could come between them is Sumi (and I wish they'd send her to Australia).

But Hiro has kissed Jisu now. Hopefully it will make her realize she does have feelings for him.

Marrying a 'foreigner' is looked down upon in general there, but I'd guess it probably is more an issue that Hiro is Japanese. The Japanese occupied Korea for a long time and were very harsh in their treatment of the Korean people. Then there is the little matter of the "Comfort Women" of WW II, where the Japanese took young Korean girls/women and put them in camps as sexual slaves for the Japanese soldiers to use. There is a major movement to have the Japanese government recognize they did this (officially they don't) and make apologies, if not reparations. Also, the current Dokdo Island issue is a hot one with Japan claiming territorial rights and South Korea claiming it is theirs and has been from maps of ancient times.

Even though the Korean Wave of celebs and singers has touched the hearts of Japanese women en masse, many Koreans (especially older generations) harbor great animosity towards the Japanese in general.
