K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)
Nsheldon...Are you getting KBS World now? I upgraded and still don't have KBS World. Dish said there are some technical problems, but they now list is as a pay station.
As to this show, I am really tired of the characters of Hyeonsu, Suin and Suin's father and mother. Jisu should not get too involved with her bio mother, and everyone should let her be. This time slot just becomes too syrupy and trite.

I'm confused...I thought it was ok now, for Suin & Hyeonsu to get together
Poor Shinae & Juho!!Technically there is no blood tie between Suin/Hyeonsu or Shinae/Juho. The social problem is that Korean culture traditionally views people who marry into a family as now part of that family, including their relatives. It isn't 'proper' to get involved or married with another family member.
They're very picky about this. In the past, besides marriage not allowed between in-laws or those connected somehow, you couldn't marry anyone with the same last name or from the same hometown. It has been in only the last few years that the laws have been changed. The biggest problem was that half of the South Korean ethnic population is named Kim, Lee, or Park, even though there are many clans within each name and the blood tie non-existent or very distant.
I had to hand it to Shinae tonight. She has the nerve of her mother combined with a rational mind and spirit. Juho thinks she is giving him the cold shoulder because they are now 'related' (cousins) through marriage. But she tells him that's not it—she's mad at him because he didn't tell her the truth when he knew about it all this time. Then she informs him that he is her first love and that she isn't going to give up on him! I get a kick out of them. They are very cute together.
I love Hiro. He may seem like a not-so-smart guy, but actually he's very cool and savvy in his dealings with Jisu. His advice and how he intuits what's happening to her is very sharp, too. I really like his personality. Very calm, friendly, and warm. Knows when to speak and when to remain silent. Also knows when to hold back, leaving Jisu wanting more! Judo, anyone?! LOL!

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)
A point that has bothered me for some time...why does Suin have to dress like an older ajumma? She is supposed to be young but to me she looks so staid and 'old maidish' if I may be allowed to use that expression. Where is her passion for anything? Hyeonsu looks years younger than Suin.
Yes I like Hiro. He has a sweet attraction and he knows how to act with Jisu. He knows she likes him even if she does not realise her feelings.
Time will tell.

As 'old' as Suin dresses, I prefer seeing what she wears over Sumi. Sumi dresses like a tramp pretty much. If her skirts were any shorter, she wouldn't make it up the steps or sit without exposing herself.

Nsheldon...If you are watching THE SLINGSHOT could you just give me a quick, short summary until I can get the station from Dish Net? If you can't, I understand.
I don't mind the clothes Suin wears, but she could do something about her facial expressions. She always looks as if she is in pain.

WOW! Now we're watching The Hatfields vs. The McCoys. Didn't want to mention the original story.... Romeo and Juliette since that one ended in death.

K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)
The Hatfields and The McCoys always had death resolutions to their fued.
I can understand why the parents feel the way they do considering their cultural and personal history. As I am often in the minority, I would like to add that I find Suin and Hyeonsu a boring couple. Are they not in their early 30's if Jisu is 29. They behave as if they are late teens or in their early 20's.

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)
Pali,
I agree with you that H and S. are indeed a boring couple. I have never seen them in any real romantic scene with any passion that would give some base for their insistence on marriage. They do not act like a young couple at all who are deeply in love.
I am also getting a little irritated with Jisu. Even if she had always been a tomboy and only interested in her work ,she would have been much more aware of Hiro by now. Since he has also made his feelings for her clear, she is being dense to act the way she is all the time. I think any Jane Austen heroine would have joined the game with more enthusiasm before now.
The only female in this drama with any sense is the young schoolgirl.
