K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)
Hey Brad,
I think that's why I enjoy these K-dramas. The couples are not passionate like in American films/shows where most couples go to bed on their first date and are always kissing or making out. Just my take.

AteOyle...I agree about the sexuality of Western shows, but you can have an excitement and chemistry about you without rushing off to bed. The actors need to show some life and believability. The more I watch the show the less attractive these two become.

I guess we disagree Pali. I think H and S are a very believable couple, even if youthful passion isn`t always present. Suin dresses as a married woman and Sumi as a teenager which is often how she acts. Both of the school kids seem to be more balanced than some of the adults in this drama.

Sherlesin..I agree the two young students are the more interesting characters in the show, but I do like the daughter-in-law also. As to H & S, they are in their 30's which is past the age of youth so I do not expect them to show youthful exuberance, but some excitement and more interesting facial expressions.

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)
I think I'm in the middle on this issue. Hyeonsu is hot - for me there is no question that he (the actor) is an attractive man and for the most part i do like his character. Though there are times when he could be (and could have been) a little more 'in your face'.
Suin is just boring. The actress is somewhat attractive, though she should stick to wearing longer skirts. When Suin is on I yawn. She is a litle too sweet and gentle - like it is fake. And the character does act like a mother to Juho and even Sumi. yet she really doesn't dispense any useful advice - it's more like a commerical for what moms should say.
They look educated, clean and well-mannered but have no chemistry that I can discern.

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)
My two cents, for whatever it's worth, is that:
-I like Hyeonsu & Suin as a couple but agree that Suin seems to have little to no personality or charmisa. I think she's really attractive but she never smiles & looks like she's in pain, most of the time. Similar to Hyeonsu!!
-I also like Shinae & Juho, though I don't see Auntie ever agreeing to let them date!!
-My favorite couple, though, is Jisu & Hiro!! Pretty...well, Jisu anyway ...and fun, and love how their judo battles raise the "sexual passion" between them!! LOVED how Hiro said goodbye to Jisu, making her jealous of the dog, LOL!!
-Outside of her rage toward mom, I don't have a major problem with Sumi or the way she dresses!!
Being American, I've been subjected to enough "passionate displays" that nothing surprises or shocks me and thought that the lack of it on K-dramas would, eventually, turn me away from them...but, as long as the plots are interesting & compelling, I will always prefer K-dramas to American soaps
--- Nam Sang-Mi...my favorite K-drama actress & a BEAUTIFUL woman!!
Chae Rim...my 2nd favorite K-drama actress & gorgeous!!

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)
Believe me I do not want any American soap opera type scenes between Hyeonsu and Suin. However, considering they are so much in love that they can't stay apart ,and will even defy their parents displeasure, it seems there is no fire within either of them. As someone said there is no chemistry at all. They have a deep affection but not an overwhelming love IMO.
I want this drama to finish and I want Hiro to get his girl if Jisu will only find her feminine side of the brain. :-)

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)
This is far from my favorite drama but I’ve seen many an episode since there’s nothing on TV better during this time period. Actually it works out well for me as it gives me a goal for finishing my walk. Not a biggie if I miss it. If I run into a friend or neighbor while walking, I won’t brush them off so I can view this “drama” . Lately I (we) have probably have watched 80-90% of the eps. I thought it was time to chip into the discussion.
LLKDrama wrote: As 'old' as Suin dresses, I prefer seeing what she wears over Sumi. Sumi dresses like a tramp pretty much. If her skirts were any shorter, she wouldn't make it up the steps or sit without exposing herself.
Maybe it’s ‘cause I’m a dirty old man, but I don’t mind how Sumi dresses. In fact, I like it. I think part of how she dresses is due to her job. I also don’t see much difference between how she dresses and Jisu dresses.
Pali wrote: I don't mind the clothes Suin wears, but she could do something about her facial expressions. She always looks as if she is in pain.
Maybe she’s constipated.
brad6 (Peg) wrote: I agree with you that H and S. are indeed a boring couple. I have never seen them in any real romantic scene with any passion that would give some base for their insistence on marriage. They do not act like a young couple at all who are deeply in love.
Yep, don’t know if it’s bad acting, lack of chemistry, or what, but They don’t come across as a couple that only live or die for each other.
further: The only female in this drama with any sense is the young schoolgirl.
I think we can replace female with person and still hit the mark.
Wanting anyone, especially your children not to be happy because you’re not comfortable with someone you’ll only see every few years is pretty darn petty in my book. They’ve driven this one into the ground.

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)
SOOO many emotions tonight, most of them
-Never liked Minsu from the beginning but can't believe his comments about his marriage! What a classless, materialistic & complete JERK (want to call him worse but I'll be good)! The only good part was Miryeong overhearing EVERYTHING...she's way too good for him, deserves a man who really loves her & I hope that she leaves him, but with kids involved, she might stay. BIG mistake imo! Loved how she kicked him off the bed, not once but twice
-Can't really grasp why Seonyeong treats Suin, her "adopted" daughter, better than her own children, Sumi & Juho, and focuses ALL her attention on Suin Just makes no sense...she should treat them all the same, if not focus more on Sumi & Juho, who are her own flesh & blood.
-If anybody talked to my daughter, the way Hyeonsu's mom talked to Suin, they'd have to remove my boot from her backside! Hyeonsu's mom has always struck me as a very lonely & sad lady...never smiles & sleeps in twin beds, rather than one bed, with her husband...and I just don't like her! Hyeonsu is a grown man, for crying out loud.
I'd like to see Minsu, Hyeonsu's mom, Auntie...and throw Sumi in there...sent to some island, where they can all live in their own misery & stop bringing some much negativity to their family
