Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

Frankly I think Suin is out of her mind, and most of all she is totally selfish. She knows exactly how she will be treated in that household and yet she will put her new husband( who is at least now happy) through hell, to try and be accepted by his parents. She and Hyeonsu should get a place of their own. They should also stay with her parents for a few months until they get their business on the road and stable.

The writers of this drama are not exactly a happy group are they? I wonder what they had for breakfast each day before beginning to write. Maybe no breakfast is the problem.

This drama is too long and they are grasping at straws.

They were going to stay with Suin's parents only until the business took off. Then they planned to get their own place. Suin can see how hurt Hyeonsu is because of his mom .. so Suin wants to make the effort to mend the relationship and try to get Hye's family to love and (willingly) accept her. That's why she wants to live with them...

The question is ... where will they sleep? Gramps will have to move in with Aunt or somehow get his house back and move. And, if Gramps moves in with Aunt he will have to share the bedroom with his son in law and Aunt will move into Shinae's room..

I thought some previous dramas would end with the couples marriage.Instead the new couple moved in with his parents and the fireworks started. Luckily we only have a few episodes left,so not too many fireworks.

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

I still think this move and suggestion by Suin is a big mistake. It is obvious that Hyeonsu's Mother is very bitter and now that they are married she still is not giving them her blessing. She says they 'have' to accept. Of course they do. They are now man and wife. She will not be a good MIL to Suin and that will hurt her son and I still think that Suin and Hyeonsu should move into their own place. Can you imagine how the Aunt will act towards Suin if she is in the house alone with her???? Horrors.

I was so pleased to see that Minsu's wife made it clear that SHE was the daughter n law in the house so she could make decisions about giving food or making decisions in the ktchen. Aunt is going to have to back down I think.

This can't go on much longer can it?? I guess we have to have a showdown with Jisu and Hiro against her parents and then there will a light at the end of the tunnel.....I really would like to find out that Hiro is the son from a powerful and honourable Japanese family and it would be a wonderful marriage and huge step up for Jisu. Dr. Mom needs to be squashed a little.

Dr. Mom definately needs to be squashed. Throw in Auntie too. Let the squashing begin!

There was a drama a while ago where the daughter in law was disliked and she insisted she wanted to bond with her screeching, hateful mother-in law. The well meaning daughter-in-law ended up a divorced daughter-in law. The son then married the girl of his mother's choice and then they divorced. Then the...I think her name was Inuin, ended up pregnant with her ex-husband's baby. An equally screwed up plot.

Why not have Suin and Hy move in with Grandpa out in the country and let Auntie and Dr. Mom out of the loop. They have several eps to get the problems resolved and everyone living happily ever after.

Minsu - there are times he puts his foot in his mouth, but I think he has slowly grown as a person and husband.

Suin - I don't care how humble she is and trying to get her in-laws to respect their son again, one can do that without living under the same roof, I think she is pig-headed. They will still need Auntie and DIL #1 to cook and clean as Suin will want to keep her career.

I hope Hy puts his foot down for once!

Does the divorce rate in Korean society correspond with the divorce rate in their TV programs?
