K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

The Chowon character seems similar to women in the past two Daily Dramas. They meet a man, don`t know much about him, become infatuated, and determined to snare and marry him. So far Chowon hasn`t stuped to the nastiness that we`ve seen in the earlier dramas.

Chowon sugar coats her attitude of entitlement with gifts and gentle talk of friendship and caring. Don't trust or like her at all.

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

What an alliance we'll no doubt be seeing between Sunjeong and Chowon! I don't think I've ever seen our doctor mother actress mother playing a really horrible MIL—if I have, I don't remember it. I kind of hate to see her as a scheming MIL, although as with so many K-mothers, her motive is to keep her son out of a relationship with a 'wrong' woman and steered towards a girl she thinks is a good and proper match.

So far, my favorite characters are Jisu, Hyeonsu, and Hiro. My least favorite are Sumi (Suin's sister)and Minsu (greedy doctor). Characters that are sort of 'just there' (I don't yet have strong feelings one way or the other) are Suin and Chowon—though I'm sure Chowon is going to rapidly become unscrupulous in her pursuit of Hyeonsu.

I'm also looking forward to Miryeong (Minsu's wife) blossoming into the beautiful, talented woman she is (used to be before her unappreciative husband reduced her life to blah gruel). So far, we've learned that she was a sports major in college. There was a previous scene where she daydreamed (remembered?) playing golf, so maybe that was the direction she was headed in her youth before Minsu took her to a motel and got her pregnant. It takes two to tango so I'm not blaming either one of them for that incident and subsequent marriage.

Chowon reminds me of Su***** in Destiny. Remember SB conned Hosea into dating her so many times. That's what Chowon has done to Hyeonsu. He wasn't strong enough in his rejection of her. I think he didn't want to hurt her feelings. But she's the type that .. if he shows her any kindness at all she will jump all over it and think he cares.

I think Hyeonsu will get mighty close to marrying Chowon (maybe he will marry her). He will feel so rejected by Suin that he will try to make it work with Chowon. Or, Chowon will pull something like get him drunk and sleep with him... lol

I really enjoy Road.

Cho Won also reminds me of Sua in MiGo. They are both strong, assertive and self-centered. Cho Won hasn't been as nasty as Sua was but I'll bet that changes once she finds out her date spent his time on the date dreaming about kissing Suin.

I like Su In-she also reminds me of Dan Pung-both strong, capable and courageous.
Su in is strong enough to leave her miserable marriage, capable enough to support herself and her baby and courageous enough to face a very difficult future

I don't know if I'd compare Chowon to Sua...yet. But, I do see her becoming a "Glenn Close, Fatal Attraction-type" in the near future, unfortunately!! Just a feeling, though I still think Hyeonsu should stop dwelling on Suin and focus on Chowon, who's beautiful & really likes him.

I'm a little surprised that Suin didn't "chew out" Hyeonsu for his comments about her having the baby alone...thought, for sure, that she was going to let him "have it" emoticon

How about Sumi's obvious flirtation with Hiro...and, in front, of Jisu emoticon And the guy, who approached Miryeong about being a model, but telling her that she needs to lose weight?? Is he kidding emoticon She's perfect, the way she is emoticon

I'm liking this drama, more & more, and really like Jisu, Miryeong & Hiro as my favorites!! I haven't started disliking anybody, except, maybe, Minsu for his shoddy treatment of Miryeong & his kids. Not really crazy about Sumi or Chowon, personality-wise, but don't hate them.

Nam Sang-Mi...my favorite K-drama actress & a BEAUTIFUL woman!!

So far,I`m impressed with the actors playing Hyeonsu and Suin. They seem to be more accomplished than most of the Daily Drama young actors, and able to hold their own with the older veterans.

Some date, eh? Hyeonsu remembering a time long ago when he kissed Suin at the movies. Now I'm totally convinced that the reason Hyeonsu never had a relationship with another girl is because he never got Suin out of his heart..

Well, so far so good, but it seems as if the writers are trying to put too many people and situations in the show which may not be a good sign. The only character I don't like is Hiro. He is a little too simpy for me. There must be a lack of older male leads for these soaps.

I was thinking the very same thing last night about Lee Sang Woo (Hyeonsu). It is such a pleasure to see one of the young male leads have some visible talent other than looking good! Having 29 years under his belt doesn't hurt, either. (I do get him mixed up with Ki Tae Young, though; Terroir, Star's Lover, Mom's Dead Upset, White Tower...)

I found this quote about the Road Home by the producer during a press conference: class ul "I tried to make dramas that would make our children proud in the past, but with this drama, I tried to make it fit for our parents. It will be more about the people who live their life to the fullest, from their work to emotional breakdowns, instead of dramatic plots like revenge", Moon Bo-hyeon, the producer, said at a recent press conference for the drama.
