K-Drama: 스타의 연인 (Celebrity Lover/Star's Lover)
well there goes selfish Mari again...I understand wanting to come clean but did she even consider the damage this will do to his career and livelihood? Did she really think that the identity of the author could be kept hidden? On national tv, she just disgraced and exposed her long-time agent and creator...did she really believe he would stand there and take that without lashing back in some way? The circumstances under which Chul Su accepted the job lessen the degree of repercussions that he should have to bear (although, by Kstandards it was clearly wrong)IMO but now he has been thrown to the wolves...he is a strong man so we will see how he survives through this.

Re: K-Drama: 스타의 연인 (Celebrity Lover/Star's Lover)
Chulsu might be mad at the reporter frenzy but I will be very surprised if he thinks Lee Mari is in on some sort of contrived stunt. It seems to me that he recognized she is finally being true to herself by saying what she wants to say, freeing herself from the false and empty life that Suh controls completely. Since he promised to stay by her during thick and thin, I think he ran to her to do just that.
The snake, Prez Suh, has just thrown Chulsu to the wolves by identifying him as the Paper Bag Dude and as LM's lover! This is his payback to Lee Mari for having sabotaged his efforts to save her from this scandal and retrieve her career, and payback to Chulsu for having 'stolen' Lee Mari from him.
It isn't going to be easy for Lee Mari now—but it's going to be every bit as difficult for Chulsu, too. His career is on the line for being the ghostwriter. The university isn't going to like this one little bit and he will probably be dismissed as a lecturer. It won't surprise me if both the scandal and the ghostwriting might also end his doctoral candidacy. At any rate, I can't see Chulsu leaving Lee Mari. He will stay by her side—unless she does something to drive him away. She may very well do this in order to save his career, because she truly loves him and is willing to sacrifice herself for his benefit. At least that's how I see the situation. Of course, something else might happen that averts complete exposure. I'll have to wait till next week to see, though!

Re: K-Drama: 스타의 연인 (Celebrity Lover/Star's Lover)
I just watched it again (free afternoon for a change), and I can see why Peg thought he was mad at Mari. But to me it's more the way nchristi describes it. He is upset with the method Mari chose to disclose the ghostwriting, I think, but he's not mad at her for what she did. He wanted her to break away from Suh, for her own well-being, and he will stay by her. He was the only one to come to comfort her--everyone else left her to mob Suh. Interesting. She is the commodity Chulsu called her in the eyes of everyone else. But not in his.
Now we have to see what Woojin has up his sleeve. Power and money, neither of which Chulsu can command. I think Woojin is much like Suh. Loved the way Chulsu defended Mari in front of Woojin--he does that any time someone attacks her.
If you google ghostwriting, you find a lot of helpful hints!! A very big business. It's mostly academe that objects to this, at least in public--ethics is supposed to be big in that environment. Having worked there myself for over 30 years, I know that most follow the standard, some fiercely, but humans are human. I've seen several instances where ethics went by the way. It becomes more difficult when money is in short supply, believe me.

I agree that Chul Su was not mad at Mari for stating that she had a ghostwriter. I think he rushed to the hospital because he realised she would be in a difficult position. However, when the manager told the reporters the extra news of who the writer was, and that he was Mari's lover, that caused a second rush of the reporters to the hospital room. That is when I thought the look in Chul Su's eyes seemed to indicate ..to me at least..that he was thinking she was implicated in the second appearance of the press. He is now put in an even worse position regarding his career. He felt betrayed by Mari....??
We will have to wait and see what happens.

K-Drama: 스타의 연인 (Celebrity Lover/Star's Lover)
Chul Soo actually wanted Lee Mari to admit to the ghostwriting to get all the controversies over and done with...but she was wavering between trying to protect CS at the same time keeping her star status...Chul Soo was at that point resigned to the fact that he and Mari have put themselves in this situation and was ready to admit to the ghostwriting...I think he even said something about scandals were only as good as the next...or something to that effect. But Lee Mari was still thinking that maybe she could salvage the situation without involving CS...however at the hospital where her manager was saying all those things about how pitiful she was because of the media, she realized that the lies were mounting on top of the other and pretty soon she will be getting in so deep that she could no longer get out and just have to continue lying...so that she was remembering CS saying about doing what she thinks is right and therefore blurted out that indeed she was not the writer of the book...
When CS heard this and saw MR's face and demeanor, he could not help but run to her (with his bag of course, or has no one noticed the ubiquitous bag?) not because he was angry but because he wanted to share her pain and be there for her in this time of crisis in her life...sigh...does men like this exist?

just a thought, do actors and actresses that play primarily "dirty", mean, hateful roles get treated any differently than the same that play more "clean", likable characters when their personal lives reflect negative or distasteful actions?

LOL, merlmd, I noticed it! How silly, to be running to save your lover with that bag slung around your neck! What could he possibly have in it that he would need?? [However, it did remind me of my mother, who never took a step without her purse!]

Re: K-Drama: 스타의 연인 (Celebrity Lover/Star's Lover)
hyena,
You brought up a memory so fast for me about your mother and her hadnbag....
My mother always took her handbag upstairs with her when she went to bed. Kept it on the floor right by the side of the bed. I don't know why she did it but I think it was not just her habit alone. I think maybe it was something done in those days....long time ago!!!!!
thanks for the memory hyena.

@Hyena...so you did notice I was trying to make a guess on what is inside that Chulsoo cannot be without THE BAG....maybe a change of clothes in case he needed them...or books in case he got bored waiting. Whatever is in there, it's the one constant thing in this drama, so far...hahahaha.
