K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
Ah! Sometimes I get Runboard messages and sometimes not. Finally Boksil (Jennifer) gets all "dolled up". What a relief and we find out why Dad looked so sour when he found out that she worked as a mere nurse for three years when they called for "Dr. Jennifer". Still like this situation drama the best.

Nchristi -- I think you are way too hard in your judegements of the Pine Pharmacy oddballs.
Dad is not the neighborhood drunk (Korea is one of the three most hard drinking countries in the world right up there with Russia and Ireland -- with Mongolia, of all places, closing in fast.) He is a construction crew boss, but I have seen no serious decisions he has that were deeply affected by booze. He doesn't come home drunk every night. I especially appreciate his decision to encourage Eunji and SP to move out -- he is doing it to help Eunji's folks, because he can see that Eunji's Aunt/mom is desperately unhappy and lonely. What a great warm hearted decision.
SP is a child man? He's a guy who takes a terrible beating for his principles and keeps them. He cares for the poor and down trodden and actually does something about, it personally. He is slow to love, but faithful and considerate. I want him in my foxhole!
Mipung also cares about others (and it looks like from the previews that he may start a "straight" romance with hana's Mom). How many teenage boys would willingly weigh themselves down with some else's child (and do a good job of it to boot!)
Jipung is not married at 40 (must be some dense women in his life -- or maybe ones not good enough for Mom -- wonder what Mom will have against Sujin - too small a chest?) He is a great guy and also very caring. How many of you wouldn't like him as a son-in-law?
DP is, of course, the family jerk. Can't say much good about him -- except I'm glad to see him get back some of what he has dished out. But even he backed off Sujin when he saw her genuine attraction to Jipung. So he is not all bad.
On the whole it is a loving and caring family!

On the whole it is a loving and caring family! Most of the 'judgments' were what the investigator reported to Boksil's father. I do, however, agree there is a "kernel" of truth in the investigator's assessment. Whether or not it's "hard" (unfair), being dysfunctional does not preclude being a loving and caring family on some or many levels.
I would want Forrest Gump in my foxhole, too. Being less than mature psychologically and socially is not a put down of Seonpung. He's my favorite of the sons and I respect and admire the integrity he usually displays in his life, regardless of the consequences he endures for that integrity. He is a very beautiful person at heart. Still, for being 37 years old, I continue to have the view that in his personal life he is a child-like man in his social skills. A little experience under his belt as a family head himself will rapidly remedy that.
I appreciate that you disagree with my opinions, usfkman. We all come from different places, different backgrounds, and are sure to have diverse views of many (if not most) situations. I'm sure many others hold the same view as you.

K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
Looking for my last post this morning but it did not reach the Runboard. Really am greatly entertained by all the expressions on the faces. Loved the Bruce, Jinpung, Sujin scene. BTW, is there a Runboard for "Jolly Widows"? The previews last night general lots of anticipation. In the very first episode about the missing husband i thought he was such a good looking man but made no connection with the CEO who is a handsome man but generated a rather insincere impression. Did anyone else notice that characteristic? He is performing his part well. Looking foward to the coming episodes.

Sorry usfkman, I’d much rather have Eujin in my foxhole. Or Boksil as an alternate.
Wow! Couldn’t believe the difference some makeup, clothes, and hairstyle can make. It changed Boksil puppy to Jennifer fox. I’m impressed. There are others (read Sujin and Hana’s mom) I’d like in my foxhole, but none of the Pung brothers made the list.
I am still so loving this drama.

Oh yes. This made me think a bit. I think the judgment of the Pine family was a bit harsh, but It did show me a different viewpoint. I guess it all depends on which side of the (Han) river you’re standing on.

K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
Adwatcher -- There's a difference in who I would want in my foxhole and who can "eat crackers in my xxx whenever they want."
Anybody know the name of the actress who plays Jipung's teacher? She handles a thankless role well. (Maybe Bruce could use an educator a whole lot sexier than Gramps? Should he take her out on a ride at 100+mph like he did with Heyrim!)
How old is Sujin supposed to be? Mid 30s?
Looks like Hana's mom made a mistake (unprotected sex) at at an early age and like many others in her position will have to pay the price. Life is like that - unforgiving. Hard to see how things will work out in the long run for her and Mipung.
Seems to be alot of Jennifer's father in DP (they are tough on those around them and demand that people cater to them) -- maybe that's what attracted her to DP? -- lots of girls marry guys just like Daddy and guys want a girl just like the girl that married dear old dad. When Boksil/Jennifer and DP finally get together (does anyone doubt this will happen?) it looks like they will have a relationship based more on mutual respect as professional equals than they ever could have had as nurse and doctor. What DP needs is a woman who loves him, but resists falling all over him. Jennifer can do that, while Boksil could not.
So what will be the order of sons getting married:
1. Soenpung (done deal! with a cutie pie)
2. Jipung (stretched out almost to the end, with Sujin)
3. DP (Jennifer finally says yes in the second to last episode -- as everyone knows the last episode will show all wifes as pregnant or with multiple young children)
4. Mipung not married, but in college. (Having just met a collge girl?)
We have at least 16 more one-hour shows (plus any added episodes) so still lots of fun to look forward too.
