K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
Jinpung is being very well portrayed but he freaks me out!!!!
I must have missed it, what was the straw that broke the camels back for Boksil to resign? Was it playboy son having her pose as his wife? Does Boksil have feelings for the Doc? or is she attracted to one of the other sons?

Re: K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
At first I couldn't stand Biker Husband, either, but he's growing on me! He's so funny and is a completely different type of character from anything we've seen in a K-drama before. I especially get a kick out of his cute accent when he speaks English.
When Mom was washing clothes overhearing Gramps and Biker in a room talking about speaking Korean, it really made me laugh to see Mom unconsciously picking up Biker's speech when Hana started crying and needed attention... No, no no! Oh my god! Oh my goodness... no, no no...
All four of the sons certainly are unusual, all in different ways. I really like Jinpung—except for talking with his mouth full of food! But that's just a difference in Western v Korean table manners, it seems. Probably my favorite, though, is Mipung. Then Seonpung (animal rights guy). Least favorite is Daepung (what an insensitive moron), though Lee Pilmo does an absolutely fantastic job in this role. I find myself laughing a lot just watching him in action, like when he kept bringing up his accidentally parking his hands on Lawyer's boobs when they were in that near accident on the street.

Re: K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
Well There’s finally another drama I can enjoy. I’m really enjoying this one so far. I like happy and this one seems to be happy overall; except for Hye Rim. I guess it can’t all be sweetness and light.
I tried to catch up via mysoju, but I’m more confused than before. Did Jinpung go out on his blind date? What happened there? How ‘bout Boksil, what pushed her over the line to want to quit? I missed all of this somehow.
Nsheldon wrote: I missed part of this on Saturday night and part of it on Sunday night... but what I did see was just plain FUN. I am really enjoying this one. All the characters are great.....
…Is this drama on the weekends too? Is that where I’m missing scenes?
Further, Well, since I adore Yi Pilmo AND I prefer a comedy, this one seems like a lot of fun for me. The pharmacist guy is the husband in War of Roses I think. I saw him in something else but can't think of what the heck it was...
You saw him in Terms of Endearment. Which is also where I first saw the mother.
nchristi: Your assessment of these (the brothers, Icemom and Sujin) characters is right on.
Kim Hye Ok has become one of my favorite actresses. Park Sun-young isn’t yet but she has sure lasted. I first saw her in Farewell to Tears. Not too many younger actresses seem to last more than a few dramas…. I’ve always wondered why.

When I first saw the bike on a Korean street… Wow! just so unexpected. And the biker husband; so different. Wonder how he and Hyerin got together.
CantGetEnough: Missed you at our last gathering. I ate your portion of the BBQ so it wouldn’t go to waste.

Actually, I think it’s similar to his part in ToE.
Also missed you and your brood at the gathering. After eating my share and CantGetEnough’s, I was too full to eat your share of BBQ. But I did have your share of the Green Tea ice cream. It was great!

I missed all of this somehow.Yes, we've seen Jinpung go out on two blind dates. In the beginning of the drama, the mother had set up a date through a matchmaker. But she gave the information for Daepung (doctor) then deliberately switched sons and had Jinpung go—since in Korean society the oldest has to marry first. Additionally, Jinpung is the least acceptable since he's already 39–40, which is considered over the hill for a first marriage. Anyway, the first blind date was with the Rookie actress from Windy City. She and her mother were expecting a doctor and Jinpung has to fess up that there's been a misunderstanding. Rookie is enjoying JP's company anyway but the whole thing gets forever ruined when JP and Rookie come across Daepung and his girlfriend Yuri arguing in the lobby of the hotel. Daepung grabs his older brother calling him "brother-in-law" and acting as though Jinpung just got out of prison. This, of course, ruins everything for Jinpung with his blind date, Rookie.
After that Jinpung signed up with a dating service. We just saw him on a date from that. It was a horrible flop. The woman was a very professional, no nonsense type and just couldn't stand JP's fumbling around and extreme shyness. class blockquote Is this drama on the weekends too? Is that where I’m missing scenes? Depends on where you're watching it, I guess. If you're watching KXLA 44/44.1, they are showing two episodes per week, 1/2 episode Mon-Thu nights, and it is edited. If you're watching KBS World on cable/satellite, then I believe they are airing a full episode on Sat, another on Sun. In either case, only two episodes per week are being seen, though I suspect we're not on the same episode schedule.
Boksil turned in her resignation to Daepung because he treats her like a slave and she's sick and tired of her nowhere existence with him and with his family. As Seonpung told his family while eating, Boksil's not coming over anymore because Daepung uses her and the whole family treats her as though she's their housekeeper and cook. Then we saw Jinpung, Mipung and Seonpung calling Boksil and begging her to come back, telling her how much they appreciated her. Only Daepung ignored her. Too busy chasing skirts and proudly admiring himself as Don Juan.

K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
Am I right in noticing that the actress wo plays Boksil also played the oldest sister in "Happy Woman"? She was the sister who married the much younger man. I guess she is type-cast as an ugly duckling (although any fool can see that she is a real Swan.)
With three months left it is no wonder that Hye RIm wants her sister-in-law to get married -- her kids need a stable household -- not one run by her very immature husband. I imagine that he will completely fall to peices when he realizes that the best thing that ever happened to him will soon die (can't blame him, but he is unlikely to set his kids a good role model in handling grief and moving on with life.)
I guess the photos at the front of this thread show who ends up with who.
I thought construction foreman dad was going to set up a blind date between his secretary and one of his sons -- it is a story line that got dropped?

Another light bulb goes on! Choi ji Na (who plays Hyerim) was also in "Happy Woman."
She played Happy Woman's ex-husband's sister-in-law (the one who was playing patti-cake with the dermatologist at her husband's expense.)

class blockquote I'm even getting used to the motorcycle hubby (couldn't stand him at first)...Me, three, and Gramps, too. I guess Motor Hubby and Gramps are going to be the Laural/Hardy or the Martin/Lewis of the K Dramas. class blockquote Missed you at our last gathering. I ate your portion of the BBQ so it wouldn’t go to waste.Missed ALL of you, too. Hoped you shared just a little, AD. I missed having a soju toast with everyone! class blockquote My Nickel’s WorthLOL, I think you can skip over the dime and move up to a quarter, now. class blockquote He said they all had to gain weight so they would look more normal and not have 'hunky' bodies. He still had a decent bod in a shirtless scene!
I also like the character of the actress!

That’s what I thought at first, but I don’t know… I’m getting a different sense about who winds up with who at this point
Also: Another light bulb goes on! Choi ji Na (who plays Hyerim) was also in "Happy Woman."
… I think I saw HW. Either my old age is kicking in or it was truly an unremarkable drama. I have no recollection of what it was about or who was in it. I think I would at least have remembered Choi Ji Na... A very attractive woman
Sent you a PM. did you get it?
I liked the harmony the 4 brothers sang for their parents, and in tuxes no less. Wonder if it was dubbed. Their English was pretty good.
