Re: K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)

I’m still enjoying this drama. It’s one of my favorites already. Not as much laughter in these last few eps. It hurts to watch JP and Sujin interact now. They’re both hurting so much but won’t talk honestly to each other about it. It’s the same with DP and Jennifer/Boksil. I’ve come to the conclusion that this is just the Asian culture (and good acting). Being seeped in the western culture, I think it’s counter-productive, yet the eastern culture has been around much longer than the western one and seems to work just fine.

Whoever JP winds up with, either the Teacher or Sujin will be hurt. It wouldn’t happen if MOM really cared about her son’s happiness.
I’m really liking Eunji. I love her facial expressions. She reminds me of a prettier version of Goo Hye Sun.
I also like Jennifer’s sister. Jennifer should learn from her.. And their dad; he’s funny.

I’m pretty sure JP and Sujin will wind up together, as will DP and Jennifer.
Don’t know what is going to happen with Hanna’s mom and MP. I think they (unknowingly) care for each other, but they’re both young and seeing how MOM was/is with Sujin, I can only imagine what it would be like with Hanna’s mom.

For me, the real shockeroo and reveal of Mom was her attitude towards Boksil when Dad wanted to pair her up with Daepung . I can understand Mom's gut reaction why she wouldn't want Sujin, but Boksil was someone Mom seemed to really like and get along with. Yet, when it came to Dad suggesting DP marry Boksil, Mom became hateful and merciless. She saw Boksil as a complete undesirable because she didn't have the right 'conditions.'

That was quite an ending scene last night. Sujin is cryingly looking through the window into the dark pharmacy, remembering and longing for the wonderful relationship she and Jinpung shared. He has been hanging around the wall and gate to her home because he can't sleep. As he is returning to his own place, he unexpectedly comes upon Sujin at the pharmacy window. Fireworks?! Or no fireworks? Stay tuned....

I remember when Boksil was at the Song's every morning cooking and then at night, cooking and cleaning. She was fine to work in the house but not acceptable as a DIL. Considering Mom Song has been desperate to marry off her sons, she sure is picky isn't she?

Jinpung has made his decision. He wants to marry Sujin and he isn't changing his mind. He's on his knees outside mom's bedroom.... and begs. He's begging to marry the woman he loves, and who is perfect. But because she is somewhat 'responsible' for a widowed brother and his two children, Jinpung's mom finds her unworthy to marry her son.

Seonpung is forced to join Eunji's dad in rebelling against the women in the house. Eunji is going to learn a lot of unpleasant traits from her mom in regards to marriage. I think both the parents in this house are causing a lot of problems for the newly weds.

Right now not much comedy .... but this show is really delightful and I sure will miss it when it's over..

I think this was deleted from Mon–Tue (Episode 43).

Suhui takes a lunch to Mipung while he's at cram school because of the big blow-up at home. Jinpung has told his parents he will not marry Teacher, but will go alone to the 'engagement meeting' with Teacher and her father. Mom goes berserk. Suhui decides she'd better leave for the day (too uncomfortable) so she packs a lunch and meets Mipung.

On a park bench, Suhui feeds him while he holds Hana. Three of his friends see and recognize MP, taking pictures with a cellphone. They go up to him, teasing him about being into girly activities in the past and now he has a kid?! Hana starts telling them off and they laugh at what a temper she has. Their parting shot is that they are going to put these on the internet with the title: Song Mipung's Baby Diary.

IceMom really makes me laugh. Loved the scene where she's telling Eunji that their husbands had not eaten dinner but brought home some quickie food in a plastic bag that was 'rustled'—said conclusion determined without ever once turning and looking at the men. She tells Eunji that plastic bags from department stores are thicker. The rustling sound comes from thin plastic bags from grocery stores! Then she noticed that Seonpung's 'stomach had a long tail.' LOL! He had the coffee pot under his shirt but the electric cord was dragging behind him.

Jinpung - What can I say? It was so refreshing to see him realize that Sujin at the pharmacy window really was showing how she loved him. He thinks his way through this mess long and hard, making a decision for his own (and future wife's) good, instead of just obediently following his mother's desires. I really enjoyed how this drama handled the scenes of JP meeting with Teacher and her father (a picture is worth a thousand words), then JP going to Sujin's office and telling her he has cancelled the marriage plans with Teacher and now he has nowhere else to go except to Sujin, the woman he loves truly from his heart. Then JP tells Sujin that she won't be seeing him for several days. He already knows and is prepared for his mother's 'perfect storm' of opposition and tantrum to get her way.

Poor Jinpung on his knees. Mom on a hunger strike. Daepung tells the rest of the family that Jinpung has given in to his mother his whole life. He wanted to study art but she said he had to be a pharmacist. He wanted to go to clubs and play but mom stopped his every dream.

Was funny to see the entire family (minus Mom & Jinpung) meet up at night to go home together because it's so uncomfortable with what's happening at home... They wanted to make sure the neighbors see them as a perfect family... lol

Brutus, Sujin and the kids go visit Hyerim's grave. Sujin cries and asked her Unni to help her and Jinpung.

IceMom and dad both call each other's moves perfectly.. Too bad they are dragging Eunji & Seonpung into their fights...

Re: K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)

Well, looks like we'll have a wedding (Jinpung/Sujin) this week. Mom finally accepts Sujin as her DIL. She should be thankful that her son found a woman who will make him happy.

Boksil's father (he is so funny) wants Daepung to move in with them. He come up with this idea after Boksil informed him she is moving from Korea. The interaction between Boksil's father and Daepung are hilarious. These two need to be SIL/FIL.

I realize how much this family means to others. They took in Boksil, Miran, Soohee, Hana and Gramps took Bruce under his wing. Boksil didn't actually live there but she was there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She was the one who did much of the cooking in that family but she loved it... Something about that family....

When Bruce cried to Grandpa about losing Sujin it was really touching. He put his head on Gramps' shoulder and Gramps put his arm around him. Bruce and Sujin NEED this family.

I totally agaree with you NSHELDON about Boksil Dad and Dapung being FL/SL. It is going to be fun watching how Dad and Dapung pull this off.

I like Dapung Dad. He wants the same thing that Mom wants but he is at least trying to help Dapung get what he needs, Boksil.

Ok, what do you think about the matching of Bruce and Miram?

Icemom and Dad just crack me up. They are better than watching a chess game. Atleast they are showing the kids how not to be.

Margaret

Bruce and Miran? Oh, why not. LOL! That would make everybody related and Sujin (and JP's mom) won't have to worry about Brutus and the kids. Jinpung and Sujin can move in with the parents (that's where the oldest son is supposed to live); Miran can move down the street to Brutus' house. DP can move in with his father-in-law. SP has already done that. That solves everything! Except for Mipung... forgot about him, Suhui, and Hana. Well, there would now be adequate room with DP and SP both gone. Mom can raise MP, Suhui, and Hana for a couple years till they're ready to move on—or get hitched!

Miran and Bruce? OH NO!!! He's so scared of her. So are the kids... I was looking at Miran tonight and I thought she looked like Bruce's son..

Had me crying tonight when Jinpung gave his mom the ring he promised her; when Sujin's SIL came to her in the dream and when Bruce gave Suin to Jinpung..

Bruce and Jinpung shopping. ... LOL

The wedding was fun too.

Those scenes were hilarious. Bruce bouncing on the bed testing the springs while other shoppers looked at them bewildered.

Bruce loudly holding up women's lingerie so Jinpung can see if he'd like them for Sujin.
