Why is Lawyer Lady so angry with Jinpung? I know one of the stages of death is anger, but if it wasn't for him, neither her/Brutus/kids may not have known and missed out on this special quality time.

I think once we get past her death, the lightness of this drama can come back. As each character finds out, their silliness is stopped...which is a good thing at this time.

And what is with the Cousin emoticon She is going to be one big PIA (no pun intended). Even her Aunt isn't found of her.

Can't think of her name, but feel so bad for Actress finding out about her bio mom. emoticon

This drama isn't that old and we already have 4 storylines: 1)Hanna; 2)death and the after effect; 3)bio mom; and 4)Cousin

I'm kinda confused because I watch this on the weekend on KBS World and during the week I believe it's several episodes behind.

I think Lawyer Lady is just angry because her SIL died. She has a lot of guilt because, since she worked, she expected a lot from the SIL. But maybe there is another reason.

The saddest thing I ever saw was when Brutus saw the pain that Jinpung was in and just held him and hugged him. Brutus has proven to be a very sensitive and loving man.

Well, I don't think I have ever cried so much over a drama as I did tonight when Hyerim died. Bruce running home, desperately trying to reach his wife before she went... the kids running behind begging for him to wait for them... Unbelievably heartbreaking.

I was tearing up also. The combination of Sujin and Bruce crying because Hyerim probably dying, the kids crying because the daughter fell with Bruce running ahead and leaving them behind and the daughter's balloon flying up into the "heavens" symbolizing Hyerim's death all made for a powerful emotional moment. If one can't cry after seeing that, they're just plain stone-hearted.

Last night we saw the end of Episode 14 (Hyerim dies).

Several favorite scenes from this past week—Epis. 13, 14 (no particular order)... class ul Gramps going out into the alley and pacing back and forth in front of Brutus' chopper. Gramps so wants to go comfort Brutus but is unable to... I guess because Sujin has been keeping everybody away from the family during the end stages of HR's illness. Or maybe it is not proper etiquette for non-family to visit a terminally ill person? (Gramps' face and head remind me of Homer Simpson.)

Loved the scene of Jinpung taking Hyerim on the bicycle and giving her that one last really enjoyable time, taking them both back to their happiest days of first love in their youth.

Started needing the tissue box when they were sitting together on the alley steps, Hyerim trying to tie up loose ends with Jinpung and say 'farewell,' Jinpung crying and shaking his head 'No.' He simply cannot accept her imminent death. The tender kiss to her forehead...

Brutus sharing his pain and comforting Jinpung with the hug.

Brutus trying to get home in time to tell HR he loves her before it's too late.

The kids trailing behind, falling, panicking because they don't understand what's going on and why their father has suddenly run off from them.

The bond between Seonpung and Miran (sp?), the visiting cousin. Personally, I like that she's entered the drama. She's a perfect counterbalance to Daepung's gross obnoxiousness—which we briefly saw him put aside in Hyerim's emergency. It was fun to see that she and Seonpung have a very close bond and they genuinely like one another.
As for Sujin's 'anger' with Jinpung, I don't think she is so much angry as she just doesn't know how to handle her emotions in such situations. Consequently, she's very standoffish. She's always been in control and logical—being a lawyer and all. Plus, she witnessed a lot of physical abuse as a child in her home, so she shuts down emotionally and diverts her emotions by busying herself with other activities. I recall when Jinpung first told her HR was dying, she couldn't handle that news and literally had to run away. Alone, she burst into uncontrollable tears and anguish, walking the streets at night, not being able to share her anguish with anyone else.

I'm really enjoying Seonpung and Eunji together. Really cute couple. Looks like she now realizes how much she likes him—watching him eat and feeling all affectionate towards him. Though he seems to enjoy her company, Seonpung still seems pretty much in the dark about any deeper feelings of a romantic nature. I like that she respects the depth of his character and that he's a person she finds reliable and trustworthy. Guess her dad sees SP the same way. He wants his daughter to marry him, after all.

Good drama. Funny, well-written, great cast. Unlike so many other dramas, even the characters I personally don't care for are not too difficult to endure.

Geeze, I got tears just reading what I already saw!! I forgot about that last bike ride together.

This drama really is beautiful. Sujin's pain over losing her SIL (lots of guilt); seeing how much Brutus loved Hyerim; watching Jinpung's last moments with the woman he cared for; that kiss on her forehead.

Another very touching scene is when Brutus takes his kids to start sleeping with him and Hyerim. He wants his family together every second he can, and he wants Hyerim to spend every moment she can with her children. But when Sujin came in their room with her pillow and said she was going to start sleeping with them... I cried.

And still we get comedy.. What a great show....

Re: K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)

I understand and respect the closeness of the family in the "last days" and the other family wanting to help, but on Fri's ep I got the "poor me" from SIL/Brutus/Pharmacy Bro. What came across for me was it was all about them, not Hyerim. My tears were only for her and her children.

Hyerim was preparing herself for death and in such pain (at that stage one is normally on morphine), but she was the one who had to comfort Pharmacy Bro after the nice bike ride.

SIL fell apart and screaming at Hyerim not to die when SIL should have been comforting and make Hyerim's last moments peaceful.

Brutus had his time and loving moments all week (which were quite nice and touching), yet when the time came, he leaves his kids behind because HE couldn't be there. Running off and leaving the kids in the middle of the street screaming out of fear was uncalled for. Don't care about making up for Children's Day... the adults knew it was any day now, the amusement park will always be there. Why didn't Brutus check in to see how his wife was throughout the day? The son is old enough to explain that mom was VERY ill and it would be better to wait and go another time instead of him being more concerned about junk food. (Sorry, but a boy his size doesn't need to worry about missing out on junk food.) Daughter is too young to understand death, but she was the only one who didn't really want to leave Hyerim. Hope the kids don't grow up guilty about going out and not being there for their mom.

Sorry guys, but the end of Fri's ep was upsetting for me the way the three of them handled the situation. Yes, life must go on especially when children are involved to help them handle the situation better, but I was not happy the way things were handled on Fri's ep by the three adults.

I’m assuming you meant Thursday’s ep. If there was one Friday, I missed it. Anyway, I really think the writers were just going overboard on the dramatics and trying to show the strengths, maturity, and weakness of the characters. Hyerim of course was the rock. Brutus, still a child. No thinking adult would just leave children like Brutus did. Jinpung, his hopes and dreams smashed. SIL, Guilt over her treatment of Hyerim. I think this is really close to how it is.
I have lost dear ones, as probably most of us on this board. I of course think of the survivors, but I do spend a lot of time reflecting about my interactions with the deceased and how / what the loss means / effects ME. Maybe I’m more selfish than most folks. Don’t know..

Glad this part is over. I’m truly enjoying this drama. I’m enjoying the actress and reporter. They’re both so sweet…. And she’s cute too!
I now see Jinpung and Sujin becoming an item down the line.
Still don’t see how the playboy and Boksil will wind up together.
As for Mipung… Here’s my version. Turns out he’s gay (they’re sure dropping enough hints, I think.) and he marries Hana’s father! Is K-Drama ready for this?

My Nickel’s Worth.

The only other time I've seen a K-drama deal with gay feelings was in Coffee Prince. Although we all knew Eun Chan was a woman, who just pretended to be a man to get a job at the coffee shop, Han Kyul was struggling to come to grips with his feelings for Eun Chan. Han Kyul even kissed "him" in one scene before he later found out "he" was a "she."

The previews and pre-release photos show Mipung with a girlfriend (or at least a young woman who is pushing him around). This sub=plot may be written out (or expanded if the show goes beyond 50 episodes -- Hint-- I have NEVER seen a 50 episode weekend drama not get extended by 4 or more episodes and the good ones go into the 60s or betond).

I think the point of Mipung is that the "new" Korean man is allowed to have and express tender feelings toward his children without being gay -- which is why he will have a girlfriend soon enough!

I wonder if Brutus is going to have a fatal accident soon (probably not becuase I didn't think they will kill off two major caracters), but his removal would put all the burden on Sis who will be forced to pick between playboy (lousy step-father material) and Jinpung (good man, good stepfather material).

Playboy is such a jerk it is hard to know why Boksil pines so much after him. She let the reporter go right past her when If she would have responded he would have turned to her intead of the actress.

Oh well this is a soap opera you can yell all you want at it , but the silly writers will hae there non-common sense way (sort of like real life!)
