Not for the life of me did I think I would end up loving Bruce!! When this first started I thought he was repulsive. I am so sorry... I've come to love this character so much. I've never seen one like him on these shows before.Totally agree! The best part is that his change/maturity is totally believable. Not a 180 at drama's end.
This dramedy feels like we are watching a real neighborhood with real everyday events.

Re: K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
Well, we had some new things going on this past week. Eunji visits the beat-up Seonpung, caressing his weary brow and planting a kiss on it, too, while the whole family crams into the doorway to gawk. Eunji is so cute. I especially enjoyed how happy she was on her way home from visiting Seonpung, skipping down the lane with complete child-like abandon.
Then there was her Designer Mom visiting that "unni" (older sister) woman, Eunjeong (sp?). By the conversation, I'm guessing she must be the girl the two men had the big falling out/misunderstanding over when they were all in school way back when. When Designer Mom talks with her about the two men still arguing thirty years later, it seems that Unni doesn't know what she's talking about. I'm surmising that only Designer Mom knows the 'secret' rift between the two men. Ice Mom doesn't seem to have a clue, either.
So, Daepung gives Sujin a 'bug' pin that she's supposed to wear every day—according to his rules, that is. I'm surprised she accepted it. I suppose she, too, is feeling the pressure to marry someone, so she's putting herself out there.
Speaking of marriage, wasn't that a dilly of an arranged date Eunji's friend set up with Peter Park, the Hong Kong/Seoul trader? He didn't have a chance since he is such a snob, dislikes animals ("anything that isn't human"), and is allergic to dog hair. Thank goodness Eunji overheard his phone conversation when she was returning from the restroom. The guy is a total creep who is just using her because she's an actress with a name and cute body, and he wants to use Eunji as a springboard to set up his friend with other of EJ's actress friends. I love how spunky she is, slamming her huge bag down on the table and making mincemeat of the guy in no time flat.
Poor Hana. Being dragged about town late at night as her teenage mother wanders around eating something on a stick (looked like a corndog, but who knows). Maybe she'll end up returning to Mipung's family compound out of sheer necessity—food for Hana and a roof over their heads.

K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
We are so driven by our compulsions but I feel really rewarded by this drama. It really makes us LOL which is very good for our health.

Re: K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
Episode 19A - Ice Mom confronts Eunji, forbidding her to see or be around Seonpung. At the same time she tells Eunji there will be an arranged dinner to introduce the "Minister's" (govt. official, I presume) second son and Eunji to one another. He's an engineer who just returned with his PhD, but EJ knows him from before and doesn't like him, of course (How'd he get his PhD so fast?). Sounds like the minister's wife is Ice Mom's friend, so they probably have all known of one another from times past.
I can't believe EJ's father has invited Designer Mom to move in without even discussing it with Ice Mom. I don't blame her for being bent out of shape over it—especially since Dad criticizes his wife's reaction by saying Designer Mom is "Eunji's mother." He effectively dismisses Ice Mom to the background and IM cries declaring that she herself is Eunji's mother, not Designer Mom.
Boksil hangs around all day Sunday doing chores with Daepung's mother. Then the boys come home and she hangs around DP, helping him wash his hands, etc. DP tells her he pities her and that he wants at least one day a week without seeing her at his home. His clincher is that if she keeps hanging around all the time, her family will have to adopt her. Then they will be brother and sister! (So much for marriage...)
I've reached my limit with Boksil, too. She is such a clingy, annoying character that I hope the writers change up her story soon. I can't take much more of her pathetic hanging on to a guy who treats her worse than dirt.
Hana and her mother - What a heartbreaking scene seeing that poor little baby alone in a room crying her eyes out. And Mipung alone in the park missing her. Such injustice in life....

Re: K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
Episode 19B
Some of the following might have been deleted between when Sujin shows up to get Mari and when Boksil leaves and is saying good-night to Daepung in the courtyard...
While Boksil plays short-order cook in the kitchen, Mari is on Jinpung's lap, totally loving the guy as he goofs around with her. Daepung moves over beside Sujin, fawning all over her. When Boksil brings in the pancakes, he takes the plate and puts it before Sujin, cutting it into small pieces for her, etc. Boksil sits there watching him giving all his attention and care to Sujin.
Meanwhile, DP is annoyed that Mari and JP are playing and taking Sujin's attention away from him. DP jokingly (sarcastically?) says that Jinpung and Mari are the new 'couple in love.' This embarrasses Sujin and she orders Mari to get off JP's lap. DP asks Sujin why she isn't wearing the 'ladybug pin I gave you,' reminding her he told her to wear it every day. Yet another dagger in Boksil's heart.
It has been a miserable evening for Boksil. Later, she takes a plate of pancakes to Miran in her room (she's been gone all day on an audition). Miran sees that BK is feeling down. She loves the pancakes and compliments BK on how delicious they are. Then she brings out an old photo album and shares photos of Daepung from early boyhood to his army days. Those seem to lift BK's spirits. She happily is leaving when she encounters Daepung in the courtyard. His conversation leaves her feeling devastated again. He only wants to selfishly use her as his employee and asks if she wants him to set her up on a date with one of his businessmen friends.
Loved Eunji and Seonpung having dinner. The girl at another table secretly videos Eunji's lovey-dovey attentions to Seonpung and puts it on the internet. As his family gathers around the computer in the pharmacy, they watch in horror as Eunji showers him with smothering kisses (lucky guy). Ice Mom faints and Mom Pine Sol has a fit, hurling bottles of medications at the computer monitor!
On the other end of the spectrum, as delightful and charming as EJ and SP are, their fathers are totally disgusting in pursuing their childhood love, Eunjeong. What an insult to Eunjeong, their wives, and children! Like she'd be interested in either one of those men even if they weren't married! Especially Mr. PineSol. What a useless, lazy, inconsiderate man he is. He lives in a dream world with himself as the Emperor. Eunjeong should have a poster made out of her deceased husband's fly-boy photos and display it prominently in front of those two losers each time they come over. Gimme a break.
Previews class ul class li Both OGs (old geezers) are at Eunjeong's having their hair done. class li Mipung comes home drunk—heartache over Hana. class li While Mipung massages Miran's back, she tells him she saw Hana. He runs to look for her. class li At the clinic, Boksil overhears Daepung on the phone with Jinpung "I've asked Sujin out on a date... please babysit the kids for 3 hrs." class li Sujin is running down the alleyway alone and falls down. In the pharmacy, Jinpung is trying to put ointment on her skinned knee (?). She resists, the kids watch. The boy says, "I think Sujin and Jinpung are having a lover's quarrel." class li They all begin laughing and having a good time. Daepung stands outside the pharmacy watching... The most bitter of bitter looks on his face.

Re: K-Drama: 솔약국집 아들들 (My Too Perfect Sons)
nchristi: Thanks so much for those summaries. Don’t know if I missed some of the scenes, or they were cut out.
I know Boksil was pretty down when she was leaving. Didn’t see the scene where DP was giving all his attention to Sujin.
EJ and SP are my favorites. To see them together is such a pleasure. Especially EJ, she is just so honest about her feelings. About the Internet video… I was thinking much ado about nothing; but then I remembered how appearances are so important in the Asian culture. I thought about some of the actors/actresses that have committed suicide over some of the postings on the Internet.
I get that Eunjeong is somehow the reason for the drift between the 2 dads, but she seems oblivious to this. Has the reason been aired yet?
and lastly, don’t like Hana’s mom. Don’t know why she picked up Hana. She’s definitely not a mom.
This my current favorite K-Drama. Let’s see what today brings.
