I truly believed that most women are attracted to "bad" boys. The trait that they admired becomes the cause of their break-up. Eunsung is one of these women. Joonsae won't get drunk and forced his way into Eunsung home, but I guess that's the kind of treatment Eun-sung wants. Also. by being with Hwan she kills 2 birds with one stone, first she rubs Seong-mi face, and second, she'll get the inheritance if not directly to her it's going to be via Hwan. Normal Korean soap, triangle love with the good guy or girl ending up screwed. Not watching it anymore.

Re: K-Drama: 찬란한 유산 (Shining Inheritance / Brilliant Legacy)

What I feel about Hwan is that he is a deeply injured guy, traumatized at a very young age. I guess I can't really see him as a "bad boy" because he only acts aloof and superior as his lifestyle. Other than that, has he really done "bad" acts in life? He was spoiled and arrogant but that was because he was allowed to grow up that way.

It always makes me feel happy to see people make progress and learn to be more loving and kind in their lives. And that's why I don't continue to condemn Hwan. For the first time he is learning to work, to appreciate what he is building and earning with his own hard work. He has begun to take pride in that and to develop self-respect. No one changes overnight, but people frequently are pulled up short, have their eyes opened, and head in a different, more positive direction. Putting on an act is one thing. But Hwan isn't doing that. He is genuinely making positive changes. What more could we ask of him?

I understand & see both points, nchristi & slantyeye

My point of view...I don't like Hwan. His arrogance irritates me & I like the chemistry between Eun-sung & Joon-sae better.

Hwan might not be a "bad boy" but the whole storyline just re-inforces the whole notion that women like "tough guys" better....and let's not forget that Hwan has, up until recently, treated Eun-sung like crap emoticon

I just don't like Hwan with Eun-sung & it will bother me...though, I will still watch emoticon

Normal Korean drama. I always know how the story will end. I think I'll just watch historical Korean shows, altho it is gory, you are left guessing how it will end.

Re: K-Drama: 찬란한 유산 (Shining Inheritance / Brilliant Legacy)

Episodes 24–25 this past weekend. Wow. Getting exciting, now. I was so relieved that Junse's true character overrode his feelings of responsibility to his crook father and he refused to vote for Granny's dismissal as CEO of the company. It was even beginning to look like Eun-sung was turning a little bit towards Junse. I'm sure the writers always intended that she and Hwan would end up together (and they probably will, yuk), but I know there was a lot of controversy among the fans in Korea and Junse had a huge amount of support. If the fan reaction was strong enough, the writers could change the ending to please the fans—but I'm not really counting on that to happen here. Though I wish it would!

Interesting that Junse's father became more honorable and contrite than the Evil Step-Mom. Well, I've never expected her to repent and become a decent person, but it seemed too sad that Junse would end up with a father just as evil as ESM. Glad he didn't. Also glad that Granny forgave him. I wasn't quite sure what that meant. Was she allowing him to resign without bringing any charges against him for his embezzlement and evil plans? Or was she taking him back because of Junse's sincerely pleading with her to forgive his father, that he was apologizing for his dad? Did Granny remember Mr. Park's decades of working beside her for the benefit of the company and on that basis keep him on at her company?

One of the best scenes was when Mr. Park met with ESM and told her that he would take the blame, that he would protect her. Why? Because he didn't wish to heap any further problems on a woman whose life never works out. What an indirect slam that was! LOL! He basically told her she was nothing more than a big loser in life, though he probably didn't mean it exactly like that. Especially if he believes in Fate and that her Destiny is beyond her control.

Eun-sung's father spots the missing person flier about Eun-woo and begins putting two and two together. He meets with ESM in a parking garage and confronts her with the truth that everything she's told him has been nothing but lies. He also tells her he is going to the police and turning himself in. The reason he's telling her this now, he says, is so she can get herself ready for the consequences. (She'll have to pay back all the insurance money and probably would be prosecuted for fraud, since she knew for a long time that her husband was still alive.)

ESM doesn't take this too well, of course. She's having a conniption fit that he's going to blow her cover and leave her penniless by fessing up. Like a wild animal that is cornered, ESM threatens her husband not to do it, that she will stop him. My take on that scene is that she is threatening to bump him off before he exposes her. She says something about pushing him off the cliff first before he can jump. It won't surprise me if, when he gets out of her car, she tries to run him down and kill the poor guy right then and there.

Seung-mi seems to be coming around a little bit. Her conscience is bothering her a lot. The only salvation that I see for her is if her mother (ESM) accidentally gets killed herself, thus leaving Seung-mi to reconcile with her father. That would open the way for the whole kit and kaboodle to reunite as a family—without Evil Step Mom screwing up everything with her evil machinations!

This drama is still holding my interest. Still, I am not satisfied with Junse ending up as the big loser. He is such a wonderful character in this drama. Man, I'd take him a NY minute! emoticon

Re: K-Drama: 찬란한 유산 (Shining Inheritance / Brilliant Legacy)

Great summary, nchristi emoticon I, too, am hoping...perhaps, against hope...that Eun-sung will end up with Joon-sae!!

I must admit that it's nice to see Hwan "clean up" his act but I still don't like him with Eun-sung...not to mention, he's an idiot because he has Seung-mi, who's very pretty & in love with him, but he doesn't like her that way emoticon

I really hope ESM gets hers in the end. Haven't liked her from the start & she hasn't changed her ways emoticon

Good drama & looking forward to the finale. How many more episodes, nchristi??

Hurray for Joonse!! I said I won't watch this show anymore because it hurts to see that arrogant Hwan getting anything he wants. Even as a child he was already that way, throwing a tantrum when he was at the car causing his Dad's accident. Also, did you hear him tell Eun-sung he will repay Joonse for all the things he did for Eun-sung, pay him with what, he does not have his own money. His entire family depends on the grandma.

How many episodes to go? Not quite sure. Most places show it as 28 episodes. However, when I checked the official Korean site tonight, the final episode was #29. (Maybe there is a special opening or closing episode?) All the websites that sell the box set list it as having 28 episodes.

So, it looks like we have three more episodes to go—maybe four, but don't count on it.
