Yeah, I think I read somewhere that as a result of working together on this drama, Miyazaki Aoi and actor Eita (who plays Naogoro) have become great friends. They really have great chemistry together -- it would be wonderful to see them together in another drama.

They were together in the movie "Su-ki-da". I haven't seen it yet, but I heard
they were also good. Read some info here: http://asianmediawiki.com/Su-ki-da

Yeah, like Nchristi mentioned, we're all starting to feel withdrawal pangs now that Atsuhime is slowly drawing to a close. After spending a year watching these characters develop and mature before our very eyes, it's a bit sad to have to say goodbye! emoticon

Thanks for the info about the movie Sukida, NChan! Sounds like a pretty interesting film. The movie was filmed in 2005, so it would have been the first time Eita and Miyazaki Aoi worked together. They must have already been pretty good friends by the time they started working together on Atsuhime in 2007/2008!

Aoi Myazaki is married to an actor/director named Takoaka Kousuke. They have both done a tremendous amount of dramas and films.
They are both quite young so I don't know when they first started their careers.

Thanks for sharing that, NChan. Having been so engrossed in this drama for nearly a year, we are feeling withdrawal pangs as viewers.
Yes it's the same here, sometimes the feeling is intense so I review those
episodes that I like best. Also I watch other movies or dramas of Aoi, I am
glad I could rent them in a video shop.

Yes, they got married very young (Aoi was 21 & Takaoka 24?) after being
steady for 6? years. The wedding was completely private, no media was
allowed. And they never spoke about their relationship in public, it's hard
to even find pictures of them together on the Net. I think I like it that they
are keeping their relationship or marriage private, I want them to have a
successful marriage life together.

Yeah, I think Miyazaki Aoi and her husband have made a wise decision in not publicizing their marriage, especially to the media. This way, they can both maintain their own careers and not have to deal with the tabloids. Good for both of them!

They sure were young when they first met each other as teenagers! I couldn't find a picture of the two together, but I did find a picture of her husband, Kataoka Sousuke, by himself:

Looks like we'll be seeing him in our upcoming Sunday night UTB drama, Rookies.

Sorry if this has been talked about.... I didn't see any new drama listed on the main board for this time slot. Are we getting one? emoticon

No need to be sorry, CantGetEnough! emoticon

Yep, our next historical drama in this time slot is going to be Tenchijin. UTB hasn't started airing any promotions for it yet, but maybe they'll begin airing commercials for it tonight.

I have seen the the opening of Tenchijin on NHK Japan. I am
following it now because the story happened in Echigo Province which
is now Niigata Province where am presently residing. I want to
know the history of this place. The beginning of the story was fascinating at
the same time tear-jerking. So far, I like it. Also, I am waiting for the English
subtitles, hope they will come out soon.
