J-Drama Video Club: Now Watching - High School Teacher - Ep. 05

Hey everybody. The moderators have been working on plans for an upcoming Japanese Drama Video Club lately, and we wanted to make a topic here to see what everybody thinks of it. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask right here in this thread. Also, any feedback or suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated. Hope everybody enjoys! class center CJK DRAMAS IN CALIFORNIA class center Japanese Drama Video ClubSelecting Dramas
The members of the club will bring up dramas they would like to see, and decide amongst themselves what they would like to see. The drama that everybody decides on will be the one we watch.

Where to watch the dramas?

We've taken special precautions to make sure every episode of the drama chosen is available and has English subtitles. A link to the episode being shown of the chosen drama will be available on a topic in the Members Only portion of the board. Below is a link to the topic:

Re: Ideas for J-Drama Video Club

BUMP!

Now that the Magicbell timeslot is gone we need to seriously think about this. We'll only have 2 drama's airing on local tv and one of them is the taiga that doesn't change into well into next year.

I think we have worked out a way to make the dramas accesible to everyone. As long as I can get my hands on the complete drama then we won't have to worry too much about episodes. We won't have to worry about switching dramas in the middle.

Yep, we've figured out a way how to make the drama available without using websites like CrunchyRoll or MySoju. Now, we need to decide which dramas will be aired and discussed in the Video Club.

Does anybody have any ideas of what drama you'd like to see or any other questions/comments about the video club? Any feedback would be appreciated. emoticon

Re: Ideas for J-Drama Video Club

Almost any Jdorama will get my viewing time. Anythin of Kimura Takuya is one that will have me ready at the start. Not easy to find these on TV and I have bought most of everything on video. Any re -watch is good.

As for taigas...well I would truly love to watch 'Hojo Tokimune' again. I know it is being put on d-addicts right now but it is much too long for d/l for me and also needs immense hard disc space. Even for me with lots ot space it is too much. I do think it was a wonderful drama.

Any of the 'Women in the Palace' (Ooku) would be great to watch again.

This project is a good idea.

Thanks for the post, Peg! Glad to have your support for the Video Club. emoticon

By the way, I just wanted to let everybody know that we've re-written the rules for the Video Club. If anybody has any questions or comments, please let us know in this thread. Hopefully we'll get everything started in the very near future! emoticon

How about J-Movies?

I haven't checked if it's available with subtitles, but I think Oh-Oku, The Women Of The Inner Palace might be a good candidate since the current Taiga revolves around the Ooku.

I don't see why not. I think we can watch movies/dramas/whatever else if we can collectively agree to it.

The moderators here have decided the first drama we will watch to get the ball rolling and hopefully get more people involved so that the next drama will be decided by everyone.

Currently we have chosen Moto Kare. If anyone has a better idea for the first drama we would like your input. If not we can continue forward with this one.

Re: J-Drama Video Club

Speaking of Moto Kare, its considered a prequel to the drama Batsu Kare, that we saw on UTB back in 2005. I don't think its a direct prequel (meaning that the plot and all the characters aren't identical or related), but the idea of it being a romantic comedy seems to be the same.

But yeah, J-movies sound great too! I'd like to see Oh-oku as well.. as you guys said, it'll be good to watch as we progress with Atsu-hime.
