Re: J-Drama Video Club: starts Saturday, April 12th!!
Moises,
I don't think I am downloading this at all. I just click it on and watch it play. I do a lot of watching dramas to decide about buying them so I know when I watch and when I actually d/l. Two different things. anyway when I replayed it the problem solved itself it seems. Don't know why or how but very happy it did something for me!! The picture did not repeat by the way ..it was just the audio.
thanks for opinion tho because I will have that knowledge for the future.
Peg

Re: J-Drama Video Club: starts Saturday, April 12th!!
can't wait....
I think Makoto and Nao will have a tense little battle going on. I am on the Nao side at the moment. She is so charming and bubbly and she obviously likes Toji so much. He needs someone like her to support him. He seems so hardworking and straight ahead and loyal to his friend who is such a klutz.
this first episode gives a lot of different areas for the story to wander.

#1 - サラリーマン一年生 - 1st Year Salaryman
Great first episode. I really like these types of romantic comedies, they don't stress you out while watching them (like Hana Yori Dango did for me), but they still maintain an awesome plot. I really like the main character Touji. He has a very quiet nature, it seems, but he's really smart and kind deep down and knows what he's doing.
Peg, I agree with you about Nao. She's really sweet and kind, and I think she'd make Touji feel happy and positive (just like how she made the clutz co-worker feel in the restaurant). I'd rather see Touji pay more attention to her than Makoto. I found it odd when Touji was behaving in such a cold manner to Nao, who made it open and public to her co-workers about her relationship (even if it would cause a company scandal or threaten her job). She even went as far to reserve a vacation for the two of them. But unfortunately, it seems from the last scene that Touji isn't able to forget Makoto.. and this is where the conflict will arise.
Makoto needs to keep her distance from the co-worker who always follows her around. The one who asked her flat out.. "Do you have a boyfriend?". But the setting is also really good for this show - I don't think we've seen a supermarket drama before. The closest thing to this was probably the Shopping Man drama.
Episode 2 will be posted up next Saturday, April 19th! Looking forward to see more about the characters!

Re: J-Drama Video Club: starts Saturday, April 12th!!
Enjoyed the first episode. It reminded me of several things we‛ve seen in the past—the movie "Shall We Dance," the series "Crying Out from the Center of the Earth," and also the drama about the young widower and son whose dead wife comes back "until the rainy season begins."
Well, I have two new words to add to my vocabulary: "Green" and "Purple"!
Also I see that we have our token slimy playboy type. And, of course, our hero is the good-hearted, good-natured guy who doesn‛t take "no" for an answer—in business, anyway. (In romance, they're door mats way too often.)
The ex-girlfriend... Don‛t know about her, yet. She seems a little jaded, especially compared to the elevator girl who has taken her place—at least temporarily. I did notice, however, that both the ex and the main guy still have their matching lovers' trinkets on their cell phones.
Then there‛s our hero‛s family. OMG. What a depressing lot they are. Can‛t stand that father who views his wife only as a workhorse to make his life easier. And the younger brother! Another lazy, self-centered loser. I‛d like to drop kick him off the balcony. He can come back inside when he shapes up his attitude. Poor Mom. No wonder she‛s in no hurry to return to the family nest.
