Re: J-Drama: どんど晴れ (Perfect Blue Sky)
Episode 155 (Tues 11/3)
Even though we started to see resolution at the episode, I can't help but feel sad now that we're winding down to the end. It turns out that not only is the big company president Satoshi's father, but he's also the son of the elderly woman that visited the inn and was nursed back to health by Natsumi! As soon as she found out Natsumi was going to come to Tokyo and meet with her son, she just had to come by and thank her personally. And when the president found out that his mother spoke so highly of Kagamiya, he realized he can't just refuse to support them, LOL! So, he ended up buying the Kagamiya stocks back from the corporate raiders and returning them to the Kagami family.
As for Akiyama's 5% share of the stocks, Natsumi asked that he hold on to them until the next time he stays at the inn. That way, it will be a reason for him to feel like he is still welcome there anytime. Akiyama and Shinichi shake hands, reconciling. With this turn of events, the majority stockholders once again become the Kagami family.
Satoshi left a letter behind to Heiji, telling him that even though he must temporarily leave and take care of some other business first, he will one day return and become a craftsman just like Heiji. Iron Master was moved to tears. It appears that in return for helping Natsumi and the inn out, Satoshi may have to stay at his dad's company for a while -- especially since he didn't return to Morioka immediately.
Things look better at Kagamiya Inn. All the maids are back on board, including 2 new hires (Ayaka and another new maid). Tomoya has come to Morioka with the new cake that he, Natsumi, and their dad have been working on. They have modeled it on the 'ippon-zakura' cherry blossom tree that was always reminded Masaki of his late mother. Everyone was elated with the cake. Little by little, life at Kagamiya becomes normal again.
The last episode (156) airs tomorrow... ah, I'm already starting to miss this one. I get sad just thinking about it, LOL!

Re: J-Drama: どんど晴れ (Perfect Blue Sky)
Thanks for the detailed recap Hiroshi! Our timer wasn't sst and we missed this episode, so your summary filled in so many important events. We kept waiting for the elderly guest to play a part, since she had the same last name as the CEO; but then nobody reacted to hearing the name so it seemed like it might be a common Japanese name. Turns out it was the same family - twists upon twists, just to keep things suspenseful to the end. We'll double check to see that we get the finale tomorrow - and maybe we'll even schedule the repeat, just in case. This has been a great asadora!

Re: J-Drama: どんど晴れ (Perfect Blue Sky)
Final Episode (Wed 11/4)
This was such a wonderful episode. I'm sad to see Dondo Hare end, especially since this drama has been airing for quite a few months now, and it's almost become a tradition to watch the Kagami family every morning. But I'm very happy with the ending. Each and every one of the characters saw a resolution, and there were many really nice scenes that will leave me with great memories of this morning drama -- my favorite one so far.
The new Kagamiya has opened, with the family making plans to open a couple of new guest rooms but to keep the original building completely intact. Shinichi and Masaki are working very closely together, maintaining a good relationship and always consulting each other on matters. Masaki's father seems to be back in Morioka, since we saw him working on a painting of Mt. Iwate while his younger brother (Shinichi's dad) brings him lunch. We see Emiko and her two young sons happily preparing hamburger meat patties inside their home, while Ayaka (who is now working full-time as a maid) approaches Koji and tells him that she is thinking of bringing her mother to the inn soon so they can decide on a wedding date. The maids and cooks (including the former head chef) are all back, and things have certainly settled down at the inn. Tomoya has decided to take over the cake shop and help his parents. Natsumi's father seems to be recovering well and is slowly working at the bakery again.
Aki the Photog has won an international contest for her photos and is in the United States, writing to her friends at the boarding house from the Grand Canyon. As for Satoshi, he's still working with his father in the big city, but keeps showing him postcards with photos of beautiful nature scenes from Morioka. The camera zoomed into the text on the postcards, and I think it said 'Natsumi Kagami' on it, so they were probably sent to Satoshi from Natsumi and the rest of his friends in Morioka. The narrator comments that it won't be too long before Satoshi convinces his father to let him return to Morioka, his "hometown." As for Kanna, she's still working as a maid at the inn and has decided to wait for Satoshi.
Some of my other favorite scenes... class ul class li Shinichi finally sees Natsumi as the ZW! class li Heiji finishing up the wind chimes and bringing them to the inn class li Tamaki mentioning that people can change. Her husband gives her a big smile and mentions, "You've changed quite a lot, too." Tamaki sure has changed since the beginning of the drama, hasn't she? class li While the family is performing the dance during the festival, we see the late Head Proprietress sitting among the crowd, watching the family dancing in unison. She smiles, realizing that her dream of Natsumi becoming the Young Proprietress and unifying the family has come true. class li I loved the very last scene with Masaki and Natsumi standing below the sakura cherry blossom tree. What a beautiful scene!
I'm going to miss Dondo Hare a lot. This has been my favorite morning drama, and the characters and story have just been superb. Never a dull moment! Excellent drama. Everything turned out to be Dondo Hare!

Re: J-Drama: どんど晴れ (Perfect Blue Sky)
I can't believe I missed the last episode. I was going to watch the 2 am showing, but when I woke up 3 min cooking was just beginning. I was so mad. It probably didn't help that I have cold.
I really did like this one. And I'm glad to hear it ended well.
