Looks like this drama is going to be starting on Sunday, May 3rd, at 9pm on Channel 18.2. Not sure if I'll be enjoying this drama... the plot seems a little bit too intense.

Intense, yes. But, what a unique storyline.

UTB started to air commercials for this drama last week during Thursday's episode of Partners. There will probably be more ads during tonight's final episode of Rookies.

EP 1

Hmm, I know it's a little too early to say this, but I miss Rookies! emoticon

We have our main character, Takagi Fujimaru, a high school student who is known by his hacker alias, FALCON. His mother is revealed to be deceased, and he lives with his younger sister who appears to be undergoing dialysis constantly. His father works for what seems to be an intelligence organization, and is hardly home. FALCON is an expert hacker, and is given the task of hacking into a Russian computer system in order to save Tokyo from a terrorist attack.

This one seems a little too intense so far. Looks like we have lots of backstabbing, secret alliances, and betrayals. We saw one with Takagi's father, who met with his boss to discuss confidential information. His boss was shot and killed, and Takagi was blamed for it and arrested. He was also blamed for "leaking" information. We don't know much about the details yet, except that by the end of the episode we realized Fujimaru is going to continue hacking into the Russian computer system to find out more about this terrorist threat, despite his father's warnings. And then there is the question as to why the police are constantly following him?

Interesting story with the new biology teacher, too. She's up to something, it seems. It was a little suspicious when she casually served Fujimaru coffee and "accidentally" slipped his top-secret laptop into the aquarium.

I'll give this one a chance. It sure is different from most of the dramas we've been seeing lately, that's for sure. I think I'd much rather want to watch Hata-san and Teruterubozu on With Love, though...

Isn't the new teacher the assassin? The one who gave the Russian spy the kiss of death, the one who also does in the other Russian in a Tokyo hotel room? Now she's preying on Falcon and his teenage-boy-raging hormones.

Well, this is probably a very interesting whodunit, but if I'm going to see Tokyo yet again destroyed, I'd rather it be by Godzilla and his fellow monsters stomping around in rubber suits! This is the type of J-entertainment that is probably considered mild by current standards, but I don't enjoy seeing young female students being molested by a sicko teacher, who forces them into bondage photos, etc. Way too sick and degraded for my taste.

What I did enjoy was the great sequence of Falcon 'flying' through the target computer as Fujimaru is trying to d/l the file and get out before the security scan catches him. That was one of the best scenes I've seen depicting the process and making the viewer feel the fear and intensity of the doors slamming behind him and coming down in front of him as it's closing down. That last moment, when Falcon just barely squeezes beneath the barrier.... OMG! Now, that was intense!

Yeah, the new biology teacher looked like the assassin from the beginning of the episode who killed those two Russian men. The biology teachers at Fujimaru's teacher sure aren't very professional... the previous teacher was molesting young girls in horrid ways, and now this one is flirting with Fujimaru! I can't believe how she casually invited him to her office for a casual meeting over coffee and sandwiches. She sure is up to something...

I agree, the scene I probably enjoyed the most was the "Falcon" flying through the security doors, racing against time to get out before he was caught by the security scanning system. I was on the edge of my seat, hoping for the falcon to fly out of there before he was caught... and it's a good thing he wasn't! Whew. It'll be interesting to see how this one turns out.

I'm sorry but this one is just ridiculous. Too many shady characters and too much double crossing and incompetence. It's a pain to watch. I'm skipping this one and waiting for the next series cause this one is pure garbage.

whew! just when I thought that everyone was going to die...
It was all a fake. this drama is way too intense, but I'm enjoying it a LITTLE!

love the teenage hero played by Miura Haruna. he played on Gokusen III with yuki nakama. He had the skunk hair(not saying his hair stinks, but the color of hair hee! hee!)

Re: J-Drama: ブラッディ・マンデイ (Bloody Monday)

From the looks of things, the first "2" episodes we saw were really just Episode 1 in two parts. I was going to watch this on-line just to make sure I saw everything and was surprised to see that Episode 2 was not what I had seen this past week. I watched about half of last week's showing, so want to go back and see how Episode 1 ends.

So far, this drama is pretty 'out there,' but it is a manga so I expect it to be rather heavy on the fantastic (as in fantasy) and light on what is realistic.
