New Miyazaki Animee

New Hayo Miyazaki animee...

After four years since giving us 'Howl's Moving Castle' we can hope to see the latest called 'Ponyo on the cliffs by the Sea'. It has just been shown at a theatre in Tokyo, so I do hope we will get to see it. I am sure there will be a DVD.
It is inspired by 'The Little Mermaid'. Ponyo is a little Fishgirl and she wants to live on the land. A five year old boy tries to protect her but she is captured and taken back to her sea home. The story goes on with her adventures to get back to Sosuke , her little friend, on land again.

Sounds very charming and there is no computer stuff this time but the real animations that Miyazki does so well.
I love all his films and hope to see this one.

Thanks for the info, Peg! emoticon

Just from seeing the first couple of pictures from the anime, I am starting to love the non-computerized animation that Miyazaki has used. CGI and computerized animation are great, but sometimes its nice to go back to the original style. The colors seem very nice and bright.

The plot sounds very charming, too!

Re: New Miyazaki Animee

Thanks for moving this hiroshi.
Must admit to cheating a little when I put it on the other thread....! I know some people don't watch anime and would not see the post about this new film...sorry for doing that...:-)

I wanted to maybe introduce a new watcher to Miyazaki...

No problem, Peg! :-)

I know what you mean, I've realized that sadly a lot of people don't post in the Anime Forum anymore. I think people read it or check for new posts, but don't post comments. Hopefully they will when they find out Miyazaki is coming out with a new film! emoticon
