"From Ukiyo-e to Anime - The Samurai Re-imagined" New Pacific Asia Museum Exhibition
My wife & I just saw a fascinating special exhibit at the Pacific Asia Museum (46 N. Los Robles Ave, Pasadena; 626-449-2742). The show makes some nice connections between the various Japanese genres. There's also going to be a juried Student Anime Festival Sat., 5/23 at 2pm, and then on selected Thursdays from June through August there'll be evening Anime Film Festival showings. The Pacific Asia Museum is usually very traditional, so this is sort of a "breakthrough" for them. Hopefully, they'll get a good response and do more of this kind of thing.
