Back in London
Heya all -
how are you?
took me quite a while to make it back - first attempt around there was an accident on the railway and my ICE got stuck, so after several hours I just returned to Frankfurt - tried to get a new cheap ticket and set out the next week again - and then the Eurostar got stuck in England, as St Pancras was closed due to security alert - so had to travel by bus and rail and arrived almost three hours late...
Blah...
I would fly next time, but what one hears of Heathrow is not encouraging at all...
Anyway - good to be back - it's nice to have the internet again. As I cancelled my phone connection in Frankfurt, I always have to walk to my sister and back, just to check my mails I spent an hour or so - and her internet is so slow that it takes you ages just to get a single page to load . and then it crashes and you have to restart the computer.
I can't figure out what's wrong with her connection - she's got a modern computer and modem and a normal internet connection, so it should be fine.
Anyway, now I've got my own connection back.
What have you all been up to?
(BTW - thanks for all the birthday congrats!=)
I went out with my flatmates that night and we had some drinks...
We've evicted our evil flatmate as well and have a new girl in, Zara who's from South Africa...
and I'm studying Latin again as I have a bit of a break from Drama School till May.
That's all so far...
Will have a look around for what I've missed!

Re: Back in London
Welcome back - at least you got there eventually! It's good to hear you've finally got rid of that flatmate. Hopefully life will be a little more pleasant now!
I'm going on holiday in June, and our first flight's from Glasgow to Heathrow's terminal 5...

Nice to hear from you all. I thought Claudia must be working hard. I hope Arwen didn't miss you too much!

Re: Back in London
It's a rough time to be looking for work anywhere right now..
But there are jobs out there.. just less of them and more people going after them.
You just have to make them want you for the position..
I don't think I've heard from Cathy since last spring.
Her old email is dead..
She does know about this new(ish) forum.. she registered on it..

Re: Back in London
I got an email from her about a month ago - she said to say hello to everyone on here (I've been really busy with uni work and completely forgot, so apologies for that!!)
She's back in Frankfurt now and hasn't been online much due to lack of internet access.

Re: Back in London
it's good to know that miss cat is all right, tanzy
and you're right, mr len
half the work is in searching for suitable vacancies
then there's all the cv- and letter-writing
i don't get on very well with application forms
just tend to stare at them and my mind goes blank
i tell myself i would be happier in london than in the town i live in now
i know lots of people in london
it seems like almost everyone i got to know at school and uni is living and working there
maybe i'm right, maybe i'm wrong
dum de dum
