St. Pat's Day foods and more...


This link has a nice overview of traditional Irish foods and drinks, and links to Irish celebs with some good pics. I think I will make boxty Image and coddle Image this year, tho I will try to knock down the fat in the coddle as we both need to lose some weight. Gee I hope someone finds the weight and carries it off soon...

I can reduce the fat content by trimming well, cooking then skimming any remaining fat before combining with the veggies. Retain the broth for flavor and add it back as well. Then bake it. If we worked hard outdoors in the cold like these folks did way back you wouldn't have to bother. These days, any extra schmaltz goes right to my behind! :crazy1: :bitter1: emoticon
