But then I guess they were trying to stem the tide of vegetable oil and vegetable shortening products that came on the scene..
Macdonalds used lard/beef tallow to cook their chips up until quite recently in Canada..
And even after they claimed to have stopped (they used veg oils that were high in trans-fats for awhile 'oooops'..) they were still spraying their fies with some sort of lard type concoction..
They now claim they aren't doing that anymore..
