Monty Python - PIlate being Widiculed

This sketch had me reeling in the cinema seat. After reading Graham Chapman's Autobiography the actors who played the soldiers were not told of the names of the characters Pontius Pilate mentions.

The two guards who try their best not to laugh is actually real, they actually completely lose it when he mentions the full name of Incontinentia though. The guy at the back who drops his staff didn't recover for about 20mins, that is why the scene cuts

One of my all time favourite Python scenes.
I pity anyone trying to keep a straight face while this was being filmed.
Michael Palin was by far the most versatile of the Pythons.. He could play any type of character in any situation..
From what I understand Palin had a hard time keeping a straight face when working with Cleese.. which is quite understandable. emoticon

The ultimate Cleese/Palin .. (with a bit of Graham Chapman thrown in for a warmup.. and just when you think it can't go on another second, this whole new bit opens up with Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Graham Chapman (again) and Eric Idle (again!))
Palin almost loses it near the end when he's getting whacked in the head..

The Argument Sketch..
For me, it's better than the Parrot Sketch just because the of the absolutely brilliant wordplay between Cleese and Palin.. and the complete insanity the sketch evolves into near the end.
I don't know about you, but in High School my friends and I could do this one word for word at the drop of a hat..

Best Line:
"Flying Thompson's Gazelle of the yard?"

I don't think any comedy group has ever come close to the Pythons when they were at the top of their game like they are here..
