Wizards and suchlike
Following on from the HB v HB thread...
In the second series of WW Ethel makes an impression with the results of her 'witchover', but no-one seems to notice that the Grand Wizard is a completely different chap to the guy who bored the pupils senseless with tales of his wizardly hi-jinks in series one.
Hmm
Which wizard do you prefer?
And isn't it strange how the girls at Cackle's are not at all looking forward to the talk being given by the Grand Wizard #1 in the first series, but can't wait to listen to the Grand Wizard #2's masterclass in series two. Ethel is majorly peeved at being made to miss the masterclass, and Mildred ain't too pleased either.
And while we're on the subject of cast changes...
Who is the best Fenella?
And Mr Blossom?
Yes :nodz: -
I have indeed been watching a great deal of WW recently

Re: Wizards and suchlike
The kid's done nothing since ww..
Guy Witcher
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0936671/
Someone once told me that wasn't his real name...
I thought both Paul Copely (Algernon Rowan-Webb) and Richard Durden (Hellibore) were brilliant in their roles.
But I can't for the life of me remember the Wizard from series 1.
Julia Milewski was great as Fenny. Her and Poppy Gaye as Griselda had great chemistry together.
That chemistry was noticably absent in series 3 with Emily Stride as Fenny.
It's not that Ms. Stride was a terrible actor or anything.
She just didn't seem to fit the role really..
Berwick Kaler as Frank Blossom was great..
The Marrow ep is a classic in it's own right.

Re: Wizards and suchlike
I preferred the Grand Wizard that was in such episodes as An Unforgettable Experience. I thought I was the only one that noticed there were two different actors haha.
And as for Fenny, I much preferred Julia Milewski from Season 1 and 2. The other one lacked something. Not quite sure how to put it. She seemed less interesting, or something along those lines.

Re: Wizards and suchlike
Yes, it's funny how there's no explanation made to the change in the wizard's appearance, isn't it?
I like Fenny #1 best as well. She's more enigmatic. I can more readily believe she'd be sneaking into the library and looking up forbidden spells
Having said that, Fenny #2 was a well acted character as well. It must be difficult to take over a role previously played by another performer.
