The Dairy Queen "Shooting Fish In A Barrel" Commercial.. How sad...
The first time I saw this saw this, it just sort of wizzed by and I just thought it was kind of cute..
The second time I saw it something clicked in my head and I found it rather disturbing.
Now I see it for what it is..
The whole thing from start to finish is not cute at all.. In fact I find it very cynical and sad...
Try and look beyond the obvious sugar-coated "Cute Factor" and see if you agree with me...
Something's wrong with this..
It's the last line that's the clincher...

Re: The Dairy Queen "Shooting Fish In A Barrel" Commercial.. How sad...
up to the fish in a barrel thing, it was okay...but really is a bit creepy overall. just another example of advertising and marketing trying to make kids out to be little adults in order to increase their econsumption of higher cost products. especially little girls. it costs money to tart them up they way they do in the younger "beauty" contests. why is it supposed to be beautiful to see little girls made up and dressed like adults? I think it's disgusting. this kind of thing is subversive, lots of people don't seem to realize they are being manipulated to increase profits. I say let kids be kids. Life is hard enough!

Re: The Dairy Queen "Shooting Fish In A Barrel" Commercial.. How sad...
The whole idea of having 8 year old girls giving "Come Hither" looks to 8 year old boys to con something out of them the same way an adult women might do in a club or a bar to get free drinks is pretty nauseating to me.
I realize it's being played all cutesy like here.. but the underlying theme of the ad is very clear.. and it's creepy.

Yes... it does have a very high "ick" factor..
There's an online petition asking DQ to pull the ad..
Probably won't amount to much.. but still.

You have to wonder what drugs the Dairy Queen sales and advertising department were collectively on when they approved that.. :rolleyes1:
