Hiking
Just wanted to say that I'll be going on my first hike this weekend. It'll be an easy one of course, but one has to start somewhere, right?
It'll be along Kumano Kodo down in Wakayama.
Has anyone here hiked before? Or traveled along Kumano Kodo? Provided this trip is enjoyable, I'd like to get proficient at it and spend more time in the woods hiking, foraging, etc.

Re: Hiking
It was good hike. We started off at kii tanabe station and made our way onto the trail.
'Twas about 15km, but with long stretches of flat or paved roads. Stops here and there at points of interest or the temples that the path was intended for.
I was expecting trails mostly in the forest/mountains, but the next hike
should be more of what I'm looking for.
I'm keeping an eye out for wild veggies too
