Soul mover is an awesome album
This is my favortie Glenn Hughes solo record. I think if this one was released in the early 90s, it would have been a mega platinum album for Glenn.
His other solo work has been excellent also, but Soul Mover was tight and the lyrics were excellent.
More of albums like this, please Mr. Hughes ! And a proper U.S. tour.
Hey, if OTR can do it, so can Glenn Hughes !

Agreed on Soul Mover. It's my favorite of his solo works as well(though "Music For the Divine" and "FUNK" are also pretty solid).

Glenn wasn't a big selling artist in the early 90s, so it wouldn't have made any difference if it had been released back then.
As much as Glenn has been talking up his latest work, I think the songwriting has been too weak on the last two albums and his singing has seen better days too (compare the stuff on From Now On to what he does on M4TD and FUNK).
I think it's very evident Glenn needs a collaborator to make it work. He needs somebody who can tell him to hold back (the over done falsettos live), or help him write stronger hooks/melodies. It's no wonder his strongest work always comes out of collaborations: with DC in DP, with Pat Thrall, the Europe guys on From Now On, Iommi on Fused.
