Highway star cover NOW IN THE CHARTS!!!!!

This is me replacing the 'master' with my own rythmn and lead tracks. have used the version off the internet with the individual tracks that appeared recently.

Only intended as a bit of fun. Have not tried to play exactly the same lead as the original. This is my version and recorded in a complete hurry so playing is not my best.

Used my 72 reissue strat with scalloped neck and lace gold with MTC. Have used the BSM California into a virtual vox AC30. Didnt use my Engl and Shure 57 cos cant make too much noise during the day.

Hi Creamstrat,

Nice playing. Solo is good with a mix of your own style and the original. At some moments you come really close to Ritchie's tone. Well done! It does clip a little bit, doesn't it?

I'm also toying with a version of Highway Star.

Re: Highway star cover

Thanks folks.

Was mainly to show people the fun you can have.

The rythmn track and second half of solo was all first take. My alarm clock went off half way thru recording which was a bit off putting. The solo was the best out of 3 takes. Would have mixed differnt bits together from the best bits, but is first time have used Audacity and dont know ho to yet. Hadnt worked out how to change levels during the mix either so the tracks are all at the same volume, which is not ideal. But anyway, just meant as a bit of fun. Would be nice to have a go at it in Cubase, which could be done if I loaded the tracks in individually. One for the future!

You're obviously a great guitarslinger, Creamstrat, and you put your own stamp on the solo. That's great 'cause....what's the use in copying Blackmore not by note?
