I am thankful that Joe was in the band and would also suggest that Joe do a couple songs with Steve Morse on the new DP album emoticon

Nice article, Rahul emoticon

Have you heard the latest Satch album? What do you think? I really like this one! And the new G3 live album and DVD is great too, although my fretcam does not seem to work very well! emoticon

Rahul, enjoyable Vai reading!

But this made me curios:

There was one incident in a hotel where this girl was walking on her hands and feet, and...(Okaaay Steve, that story is unprintable!)

Mind tell it here? emoticon

From the Vai one again:

I notice that in the UK, the crowds are very attentive and they listen very carefully. And when the song is over, they clap.

I must say. A hell of an audience you have there in Britain... emoticon

Well, it involves a hosepipe, a bottle of wine, and two naked people! emoticon

Hey! I didn't authorize anyone to be speaking about my honeymoon! emoticon

Seriously, great reads, Rahul! Interesting to hear Satriani speak of his hesitation about joining Purple. I was one of the many who for years accepted the "contractual reasons' as the #1 primary reason. Agreed about the irony of another American guitarist being offered + accepting the gig.
But, damn, it still breaks my musical heart that at least one studio recording with Satriani at the axe post didn't get done. emoticon Thank the Gods for bootlegs!

While the chances were not good for Joe to join permanantely (he is at heart a solo artist) they did record some live shows for release. But due to contractual reasons were not able to do release them. (I read this somewhere)
