Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye and Clearly Quite Absurd should be given more credit.

The whole album should be given more credit even the weaker tracks have good bits in them but maybe back to back is the biggest stinker of all time . The songs are all well structured and well played and fit along side each other better than the songs on bananas.

Hey I love that "biggest stinker of all time" song! emoticon

Agreed.

I love my Japanese copy of the album. It sounds better and there's no MTV, which I skipped anyway; besides it flowed better without it. And then of course, there's the great bonus track TINS!

Agree the Biggest Stinker is one of my favorite tracks. I just bought the Japanese 2 cd set. It's great having Things I Never Said and well Dressed Guitar - both great songs. The live stuff is pretty good. The intro to Highway Star is excellent. Maybe I'm not that fussy about sound quailty - the album has always sounded good to me.If the songs are good then details of the production can't ruin it for me.

Hi all. I'm new to this site.
I think that ROTD is a terriffic album. I consider it more of a musicians album and it reflects DP's evolution. -- Bill K

hi there

I still believe the album is great.

there a few "buts" though

1. Production

I defended the album two years ago claiming it is well produced. Well, it is not. Having purchased a high quality stereo equipment I could finally compare the production of ROTD to other "audiophile" albums.

Let's face it, the production is hopeless. In fact it is one of the worst albums I have heard when it comes to sound quality. It is just you don't hear that on an average equipment. And I am really sorry to say that cause the music is of high quality

2. Vocals

I think Gillan should have done some more takes in some of the songs. I think Bradford overdid with this spontaneity of recording an album

but all in all I still believe it is a good album.

It's great. I like what Bradford has done for the band, but I wish they had a different engineer...I don't care for the mix.
