Re: One Eye To Morroco

They played four tracks during the interview on capital radio in Italy , definitely a cross between dreamcatcher and aop , the production sounds really solid with Gillan sounding good without pushing it too hard.
It was funny when the interviewer asked him what was his favourite deep purple album .. the reply was 'bananas' which threw him totally .. No i meant your favourite dp album .. Gillan now annoyed said yes the one before last . There were the usual pavarotti quotes .. but now the great man had heard IG sing smoke 6 or 7 times and sing it differently every time rather than 2 or 3 times a few years back (thats with low inflation as well and pavarotti sadly passed on ) .. there was the quote about the set list being the same but the show lengths varying , he also mentioned that there would be no gigs to go with the album, not a bad interview with four tracks played , so a good result for IG i think.

really hard to make a judgement after hearing the tracks on my monitor speakers but the production stood up against other tracks played. The four tracks played are from a total of 15 recorded for the cd including bonus tracks . An early thought would be that this is a album that IG should be making at this stage of his career and perhaps not clinging on to what is left of his purple career.. just a thought.

This may be the better way for Gillan to go with these easier songs. There´s so much strength and width gone from his voice that harder stuff really don´t sound very good anymore.

Yes I agree, I just listened to the tracks and I liked it. Good solid production and a good overall sound. I will buy this.

...
What a stupid cover...

Okay I like Frank Zappa's "ship arriving too late to save a drowing witch" and its simplicity as a conceptual joke, but what's the concept here?
