I hope this new book, Day By Night (a DP history of gigs 1968-1976), will finally be the one that has LOTS of pictures of the band playing in concert. It would seem like the perfect book for looks of live shots.

Does anybody know much about this book?

Deep Purple / Day By Night (Book) : the words "almost ready" still apply, but final editorial and design meetings are being scheduled.

Verdict : The proof copy rarely leaves my side, this is a monumental piece of work. - from The Deep Purple Appreciation Society website, as of May 6th, 2006.


 Better keep a close watch on that copy, Simon! We here at the FanForum are in the process of organizing a commando raid on Blackmnore's garage for all those tapes he's got in there - looks like target #2 may have just identified itself! emoticon/emoticon




ps - I can help with that editorial/design meeting stuff...the design is fine and edit nothing. There - meeting adjouned! Now get to printing & publishing. emoticon

I imagine it must have come out by now. I'm a bit slow on the draw and this is the first I've seen of this thread....since its inception.

Nigel, I think anything worth having is worth waiting for. I'm sure it will be worth the wait. I'm looking to eventually supplement my Chris Charlesworth book-- which is of course my vital Deep Purple bible since the 1980's.

If you top that effort, you will have my unrelenting respect.....(not that you need it, but you'll have it anyway!!! emoticon )
