Re: My son is home from Outdoor school
That's cool! My eldest child (daughter Shannon) did that in... Grade 11 I think.

Re: My son is home from Outdoor school
I believe they do that in 6th grade in our school system but with the budget cuts I am not sure it will continue

Re: My son is home from Outdoor school
: sit around and hear my tale...
DAY1
we boarded the bus on wendsday at 10:30 a.m. the bus ride was exhaustingly long, even though I sat by my friends. When we arrived we were escorted to lunch, where we had macaroni and cheese followed by fresh cookies. After wards we went to our cabin in our groups. My group was called 'Big Pine'. After that we went to field study. I had gone to animal study and earned a red bead. Then we had dinner; fried chicken, bread, butter, green beans, and pie for dessert. Then we went tocampfire and watched skits and sang songs. then we went to bed.
DAY2
I was awoken by my counseler, caboose, who called me charlie. We went to breakfast then field study. we did earth field study where i got a black bead. then we ate lunch, followed by a water field study where i earned my blue bead. we went to our cabins then did recreation. i choose archery along with 10 others. i learned how to shoot and hit two bulls-eyes. After that we ate dinner, and did campfire. Then, at 10:00 P.M. we went on a hike in the dark. we learnedabout eyes and was given, *gulp*, 'THE ULTAMITE CHALLENGE"!!!!!! We werent allowed to speak a single word until dawn the next mornig. Very hard only five cabins had done it previously. We did it ang got the fabled glow-in-the-dark bead.
DAY3
We awoke to get our bead and pack up. then we put our stuff on the luggage trailer and had breakfast. we did our plant field study, then had lunch. I got my green bead. We planted a tree and then went home.
