to and old friend
A blaze of lightning lit the sky,
and for a few moments everything was revealed,
The menacing clouds, the endless stars,
A connection of pure thought crossed a arc,
Between minds that had but little else
in common,
Besides that brief connection over a great distance.
Then the storm moved on,
Carried by winds and currents and gravity,
The lightning faded,
The sound of thunder replace by silence.
I dream that the storm rages in a distant sky,
Creating new sparks and currents,
Arcing and connecting and drumming deep thunder.
Surely it has not been forever silenced?

I had an email from an old friend of ours the other day. He has embarked on a very different life from the one he had. I hope it will make him happy and provide inspiration. I hope he will also have time to come back here again someday, but I think he's walking a very different road now and it might not come back our way..
