emoticon I love anything with wings even dragons.
I might plant some blue butterfly bushes along the new fence, I think it will be a good addition to my yard.

Butterfly bushes are wonderful. Not only do they look great, they also benefit butterflies and bees. I've even seen hummingbirds feeding on them.

I have a lot of plants that grow wild in my area too. It just took time to identify what many of them were. The milkweed was easy. The wild Monarda took some time as did the Ironweed. What is odd is that I don't see the same plants every year. Some things that I do see every year are Goldenrod, Prairie Verbena, Asters and a ton of other wildflowers. My yard looks like a mini-prairie when it isn't mowed.

I really like asters. the purple ones the best.
I plant many flowers never checked to see if it was native, I love flowers, and I grow most of my apple tree from seed.
my boys like to eat apples.
& I am very good at getting them to grow.

I am fortunate in that I have two different places near me that sell native plants. One of them has a big plant sale once a year but the drawback is that it is the only time that they sell their plants. It is actually the supplier for one of the botanical garden type places in Dallas. I like the purple asters too.

Nothing wrong with that. It's how we keep things fresh and interesting to us.
