Important! Facts of The Continent / Help with Stories.
Due to the amazing explosion of growth we've had in our chapter, I'm seeing many, many new members writing some great stories for this particular forum.
Once again, due to the growth, it has naturally been difficult for us, the Council, to spread all of the current knowledge about our official Storyline to all of the new members.
In turn, the stories that our new members are working so hard to create may have slight inconsistancies, so I'm making this post to help clear some of that up.
Try to follow these guidelines for this topic:
1. If you have ANY question about a person, place, creature, battle, war, species, ABSOLUTELY ANY QUESTION, just simply post it here. Someone who knows the answer will gladly answer it for you, with Mithris being the President of story knowledge, I'd probably fit the bill as the Vice-President.
2. Only answer others questions if you are fairly certain that you at least somewhat know the answer. Trust me, there are plenty of us that can appropriately answer, so we'll want to keep this area pretty organized, so other may quickly scan to see the questions / answers.
3. If you want recommendations for your own character story, feel free to ask them here as well. Sometimes the best stories are those that pull ideas together from a few sources.
4. I recommend that once you complete a story, email it to either Mithris (mithrisoferyndor@yahoo.com) or myself (daerisoferyndor@yahoo.com). If we aren't too busy we can review the story and offer you ideas for any changes that may need to be made.
Here are some helpful map links within our own site:
City and Regions Only
Large Map with Everything Listed
Everything without Names
Only Regions Labeled
Travelways Map
Once opened just right-click the pic and scroll down to "Save Picture As" and save it to your comp for easy access.
Here is another important link:
Map Descriptions
Remember, we want to see the questions about the story here, don't go posting the story in here...at least not all of it. Try to keep posts as simplified as possible, not taking mine as an example.
Good Luck and Good Writing!

Re: Important! Facts of The Continent / Help with Stories.
President of story knowledge, eh Daeris? I don't know about that brother, but I certainly love the story and it's creation with all my being.
If you do want input from me personally, or if have a question that you think only a Council Member might know the answer to, please e-mail me personally mithrisoferyndor@yahoo.com . You'll get a response much quicker, because something tells me this thread will grow massively soon.
Be CREATIVE, be OPEN-MINDED, write something ORIGINAL, stay TRUE to The Continent, and remember that our story is MATURE. Don't feel you need to have corny, light-hearted happy-go-lucky fantasy tales.
Good luck story crafters!

Corny? Light-hearted? You say that like it's abad thing. Shake-a-spear would often throw in a bit of humor to his tradgedy. I caught a bit on NPR the other day commenting on how in Antony and Cleopatra, she complains about Antony being too heavy, five lines away from her death.
Old Will put that in there to lower the defenses of the audience. If you are hit with tradgedy, tradgedy, tradgedy, you become numb. A bit of lighter spirit allows you to fully absorb the pain and suffering which are the mainstay of any truly good story.
Eryndor is not a happy ending sort of story. There will be rape, pain, burning and misery. People will die. If gallows humor accentuates the story, then so be it.
Tears of joy and tears of agony are only a shade apart.
FROM DAERIS: Good Post Simon - and you are correct. Adding comic relief in any story needs to be done, it's just the timing of it that counts. Daeris Out!
FROM SIMON: Get yer mitts off my post, or I'll tell everyone about you and that genital shaving incident! Uh... How do I delete this...

Also, when writing stories remember this....
Hithdor is greatest city on the continent. It has huge towers and huge walls. The last great city of men. Hithdor rocks! We are the best!

Fairion, could you answer me a quick question? Could you please shut your face? Could anyone answer that question?
Conceited loser, I created Hithdor anyway :-P
