Weapons Check starts at 2pm, Fighting at 3.
Event Cost is $3, which buys you day fighting, night fighting and dinner.

Yeah, night fighting! The Alliance is bringing you an Eryndor first: a day event that keeps you going into the night. Legacy is hooking you up with stadium-style lighting for an event that will last long after dark, with a special scenario battle to make the most of the unique conditions.

I understand that there is going to be night fighting, but why are we starting fighting so late. With the time of the year its getting colder quicker. Starting fighting later seems like an idea that would be good for a mid-summer day event with night fighting.
I personally would much rather start fighting at noon, and just forget night fighting where I don't have to worry about all the dangerous over head shots and the cold making the fighting that night much less enjoyable than day fighting would have been. From my understanding the night fighting was there to let us have more time to fight, but seeing as we are starting fighting 3 hrs. later than normal, we are not doing more fighting, just more dangerous fighting.
Also, since certain styles/combinations of fighting are not safe at night I hope these players don't feel left out or limited by this choice in pushing back the timing of the event as opposed to something that cannot be controlled (for ex. the weather).

Omega, thank you for your concerns. We are well aware of these and took these into consideration when trying to come up with a plan for this event. However, with the GREAT success that was the night fighting this year at ragnarok we wanted to "jump on that bandwagon."
As far as timing goes most day events go from ~12 to ~5. We Simply added an hour and added a planned hour break for some sweet Fury Chill (some for the vegetarians as well).
I am unsure of your point about "dangerous" night fighting. From what I got as the general concensus from this year at rag about night fighting was that it was not any more dangerous than your regular field battle during the day. And yet it was "super intense" "mega fun" "My favorite part of rag" (as the critics saids).
Keep in mind, Omega, we are not doing night fighting in the dark. The field will be alluminated by ~6 football field lights. If you are refering to the fighting in the dark with the glow sticks then yes you are correct that = much scarier and much more dangerous.
I highly encourage you to come out. "Don't knock it till ya try it." We have some super cool battles planned for you guys... Hey come show us how you can fight against savage black orcs under the big lights...

I don't think I would have been able to make it regardless due to work, but with the shift in time I don't think I would make the trip even if I didn't. With the focus of the fighting being pushed more towards dusk and after dark, it would be way late for any day trippers from any kind of distance getting back.
If it were me, I would have planned this event at the normal time for events, had a break at the time when events usually wrap up to give people a chance to rest and perhaps get some warmer clothing on, and then kick out the night fighting for those that are interested.

Awesome Idea Guys! For anyone who loved the night fighting at Rag, this is what we've been waiting for. However, I can see Haldour's point with the taking a break for a bit in between and starting sooner. That would allow the ppl who wanna come to the event but have time issues to still enjoy themselves. We may be losing some participants by not starting at the normal time. But all in all, hell yea night fighting!

Haldour, the reason for the late start is because people generally burn out after 4-5 hours of fighting (before Omega pipes in and talks about his dagorhir stamina of being to fight all day I am speaking in generalizations...). The way to look at it for the day trippers is you get to SLEEP IN! You do not have to be there at 11 for weapons check. It isn't until 2... so sleep 3 more hours.
