golf club

I have a carbon fiber golf club shaft that has had the head broken off from it, and I was wondering if it would make an acceptable core for a weapon.

Yes. Good carbon shafts work okay (if you hit hard you will break it sooner than later, though).

If there are a lot of hairline cracks in the shaft (which is likely, considering the head broke off), it will die very quick as a core because its integrity is already compromised.

actually, it's in good shape, my brother slammed the head on a concrete slap like a douche, that's the only reason it broke.

then it won't work... you need NEED to cut those heads off, or the first time you bring it to a good practice or an event, it will break

I'm going to take whatever you haven't nailed down... Nevermind... I'll take that too.

Actually I used a core from a golf club that i broke off... Still unbroken. Although, i did trim it down from the "break point" maybe that helped. And did not make it as long as some. The oddest thing i found is the odd shape of the core led to a slightly odd shaped sword... and odd upon intial foam to core contact. I had the foam come off the core 2 or 3 times before just getting annoyed and leaving it unrepaired... I guess i'll add it on my list of things to do...
