a shooting star sears across a soothing night sky
and we lay out in this open field
reflections of a star that has died
lost deep within our eyes
with my hand wrapped gently around yours
i can feel your hair against my skin
as it blows rhythmically with the wind
and im living for this moment
where time stands still
and your hair against my skin
is the only thing that i feel
and your breath against my ear
is the only thing that i hear
and we find ourselves here
caught in this moment
time stood still
and laying next to you
life has become perfect
so even if its just for the moment
know i wouldnt let it go for anything
that the world has to give
because laying next to you
time stands still
and for once your love is all i can feel
--- "Pity me that the heart is slow to learn
What the swift mind beholds at every turn."
… Oh my word, that first line must have been read a million times. Do you ever read a poem and one line stands out and touches you so much the rest of the poem kinda gets put to the side, sorry i've done that but that line is class!
