Joanna Lives Hi all, I was hoping for some honest opinions about this poem. It is extremely important- a very dear friend has recently died (at the tender age of 23) and I will be reading my poem at her funeral in a couple of days. Thankyou in advance for your help.
My Jo,
I sat by a fountain, weeping
And then I laughed
Because you live in the radiance
Of sparkling water.
I walked through a garden, sobbing
And then I smiled
Because you live in the beauty
And complexity
Of a rose.
I woke, crying
And I dried my eyes
Because you live in the warmth
And strength
Of the sun.
I looked to the sky, screaming
And then I was silent
Because you live in the freedom
Of a bird's flight.
