Darkness

Darkness

Darkness entrapping Man's salvation
Behind crumbling walls of civilization

Lost are the souls that have been left bare
Corrupted by the rich man's hungry warfare

Deep in the dark, God's images hidden
Spiritual growth and prayers forbidden

Naked souls perched on sanity's ledge
A peaceful ending is what they pledge

Famine and poverty, corruption and crime
Alien creatures, no longer mankind

Rotting fruit bursting, rivers run red
Wisdom flying right out of Man's head

The enslaved serving platters, filled with hope
Ignored by the wealthy, the greedy, the Pope

Their dark tunnel vision, left without sight
Refusing to envision a life full of light

Let the babbling tower fall on our head
For if this is Life, we're better off dead

Blushing here...again, thank you. Poetry has always been what I write best. Why? I don't know. It just seems to flow for me. It is the wannabe writer, the author, the novelist that I most strive for, the writing I struggle with the most. The ideas are there, and I've started quite a few novels, and I've yet to finish one. And thank you for being my only fan. LOL!

You can say that again. I'm not the only one I'm sure. Perhaps just the only moderator with enough time to read every post on this forum :D :D :D LOL :D

I think this is my favourite one. I even have a copy of it right here stuck on my computer :D :D :D It's very good indeed.

The rythm in this is incredible and the depth far more so........I am at a loss for words.............
