Patriotism= Fascism and Racism?
This is more of a rant than anything else but I wanted to talk about the United States Government and Society’s Values. In 1776 this country was founded. The Untied states of America maintained law by making the Constitution. The bill of rights were suppose to be taken seriously. Now it’s 2005 that’s 229 years later, and I think the whole bill of rights is nothing but a Joke to modern day Politicians.
In my opinion, and I know many will disagree This country shouldn’t be claimed as a Democracy more than a Hypocrisy. A Nation where the Rich get richer and the poor get poorer, Where our Movie rentals and library book selections are monitored by our government legally by the so called patriot Act. There are really No more Values in this Society. Very few people have values of yesteryears. Of course I’m just one guy with this opinion. I haven’t been everywhere in this country nor do I know everyone in this country but from where I sit I see Fascism Racism and Hypocrisy.
Fascism- We the people of the Untied States are being watched. The government watches the books we get from the library the movies we get from the movie store. Because Pastor Brad who just rented the passion of Christ. Might be a terrorist. And little Timmy who just Got the 5th Harry potter book from the library well he’s being checked too, you know terrorist come in any shape or size.
Racism- Sure the 1960’s were the Civil rights years here in this country. Great obstacles were overcame when Martin Luther King and his Flock Marched to Washington. But not every obstacle. Especially in these small redneck towns. Hell even Blacks are prejudice of whites. There still is a HUGE color contrast in this Nation. One that probably will never go away. Racism still happens in the South
as well as the north. The biggest “minority” now being Discriminated against are people from the Middle East. People who haven’t ever lived in the Middle East. People who were born in America who are citizens of America are being watched. White people are Afraid of them. They think anyone who has a Koran is a Terrorist and Close friend of Osama Bin Laden. Through my eyes, stuff I have witnessed after the 9/11/01 incident I believe America is the most Paranoid, Most afraid bunch with the Exception of few people. Not all people are like this in America. But some are. They are Republican, they are Democrats and they are independents.. The people that think they have to act out against These middle east “minority” Are sometimes people that Despise the KKK or the NRA but they do the exact same thing as these two groups. The in Fear that their precious White American Feet are being Stepped on well they React they become racist they Curse the Minority they Hit fire sue the minority. They might not be wearing a Pillow case as a mask but they are doing what the people in the white pillow masks do. Now many people who read this may ask.. Josh dude You are a white American Male you live in a Redneck small town where Billy bob the local meth dealer is close friends with Jim Bob the Sheriff. You were in America on 9/11/01 You probably watched the Attacks on TV. Yeah I watched them. I was in a drug rehab watching it on TV with my Roommate Ahmed. Ahmed oh my you talk about a good guy. He looked just like those guys who drove them Planes into the twin towers. Except he was born in America so was his Mother. His name Ahmed well he was named after his Grandpa. He was not of the Islam religion. He was in fact a Baptist. He would give you the shirt off his back, He was the type of guy you could wake up at 3 in the morning when he had to be at work at 6 just to tell him you were craving drugs and you needed someone to talk to. Ahmed on that day and for a week or so was scared. So scared he quit the Job he had. He quit going to Narcotic anonymous meetings.. At times he did go out he was stared at like he was about to throw anthrax in a baby’s face. I can remember him having a car and I can remember the gas prices all of a sudden going so high right after this national tragedy how Ethical was that? Was there a reason for the Gas prices to go up by Dollars after we had been “attacked” ? I can remember having to drive his car to the gas Station to get gas. Why me? Because I was a White American Male with Blue eyes. You ask me if I was mad because we had been attacked and hundreds of Innocent lives lost. HELL YEAH I was pissed. I was pissed at who did it. Not an entire race of people. I wanted Osama Bin Laden the “mastermind” of the attacks brought to Justice. I wanted every American Life that was Lost to be compensated for. I wanted Osama’s Army to die. I didn’t want the higher Gas prices, the Discrimination against my friend Ahmed and others of his race. Nor did I want little Timmy or Pastor Brad’s Personal lives being probed by the government. Now I think I have the racism part covered so lets move on.
Hypocrisy- I don’t mean to bring anyone in this argument Directly. But Even last night as My Mother my step Dad and I sat at the table for Supper my Step Dad said Grace, he asked God to help me, help this person, and help that person. After we ate we watched a Movie. Now he’s not really tech Savvy and he couldn’t figure out how to run the DVD player. He responded by saying “I can’t get the ******* Piece of **** to work” which then he said more Curse words. This is the same guy who gives me a dirty look when I don’t want to go to Church. The same guy who tells me I should pray about this or that. I don’t consider myself a Christian. I believe there is a God but I’m not totally sure who he is. I do know that In the Christian religion there is a thing called the ten commandments. And I believe it’s either the first or third commandment is Not to use the lords name in Vain. Need I remind anyone that he who looks down on me because I don’t go to church has used his lords name in vain. But he isn’t the only Hypocrite. Oh hell no. We have a President A vice president and a Secretary of state who tell us how we should Live then they and their close friends live the Opposite way. A president who Hates Drug users. Who in a discovered tape Despised the use of marijuana, a president who has been know to in the past Snort Cocaine. A president Taking kids away from their parents asking them to fight for this nation. Fight against Terrorists. Who he himself couldn’t complete his time in the Service. A president who urges other countries to stop making Nuclear weapons but has some himself.
Now I imagine I’ll get some heat from people for posting this. As I said it’s a Rant. I have done no research on this. You can argue against me you can berate me, call me unpatriotic call me Un-American but you can never take my Opinion away.
