Should smoking be BANNED in public places?

I.E restaurants, pubs, clubs, cinemas, football grounds, supermarkets and alike

Certain places smokers are banned already (apparently), so please forgive me if one of them is included in the list.

Well in Florida smoking has been banned at pubs and restraunts, and it doesn't bother me. A lot of places now have areas to eat outside if you want to smoke. Knowing my cigerette smoke is harmful, I don't mind smoking outside and away from non-smokers. I even feel awkward smoking next to someone who has even said that they didn't mind me smoking. So, I vote yes. I need to quit smoking anyways..lol

In a word, YES, it should be banned in public places, just like drinking. Couple them both together and making it only possible in a designated place or at home.

Its been in effect here in Delaware for about 2 or 3 yrs now, you not smoke in Resturants, Bowling Alleys, Bars. I think its a good idea becuz you don't have to worry about smelling like smoke if you sit next to a smoker. As far as drinking goes, if that ever gets banned there goes Hooters, all the strip clubs, Bars, Pubs in that state.

Ah, I meant that in Britain it's illegal to drink alcoholic drinks in a public area (like in the street or at the park), but designated areas are bars, pubs, clubs etc

Yes, I think it should be banned, but only in public places (grocery stores, cinemas, etc.) However, I don't see anything wrong with smoking sections, and I don't know how I'd be aware I was in a bar if I wasn't met with a cloud of smoke.
