Re: Most Annoying Human Trait (Take2)
O.k so i've redone the topic, edited and given the chance to pick three from the list. Mine were Smoking, Dishonest and Attention Seeking, the three things that annoy me most. Dishonest is self-expletory, no doubt everybody knows how i feel about people who smoke around others without considering how they might feel about this, but Attention Seeking is a tricky one.
When does a genuine sharing of ones life/toils/torment or joy turn to attention seeking? Basically i feel when a person gets angry, irritable or shows another form of emotion if a fellow person’s attention isn't had straight away, hence why it is called Attention Seeking, you are seeking attention, not waiting for somebody’s attention. If that makes sense. It’s the same when people speak when others are, or shout them down, it’s basically a form of seeking the rooms, or another persons, attention, not waiting for it to fall to them.

Ignorance, Self-Obsessed and Attention Seeker.
Ignorance - The basic lack of moral fibre. I absolutely hate it when you're out shopping and people do the following...Leave their trolley blocking the aisle up whilst they go shelf browsing. When people just walk straight across your path and cut you up (that always gets a comment from me when it happens). When people don't use their general manners, like saying please and thank you. It doesn't cost anything, use it! When people interrupt you when you're speaking or speak across you, that really winds me up! A lot of my hates can be covered by ignorance, including a lack of appreciation. When you go out of your way to help someone or do something for them, you don't even get a thank you. I hate that! I could literally spend £50,000 helping someone out, and all I would want in return is a simple "thank you". Two words, that is all I ever want in return for helping someone, no matter how large or small the task was. I don't want a fanfare, my name in lights or in the paper, I don't want a medal, I don't want smoke blown up my backside, just say "thank you". The ignorance swines who can't even do that are the leeches of life, total parasites who are after bleeding anyone around them dry. They don't appreciate anything you do for them, they expect it. These are the people who were brought up without manners in their life, ignorant to the world around them and the way to conduct yourself in public.
Self-Obsessed - This is very close to Attention Seeking, but for me it is worse. No matter what you've done in your life, that person has always done it better or had it worse. If you're ill, that person has always been at death's-door with the same illness. I get sick to death with people and their own self-importance. I know of one person who writes a blog, and EVERY entry in that blog is full of how she loves herself, how she found that she just happens to live in the most affluent part of that city, how her husband has just been offered his boss's job. She copied & pasted a copy of every email that her colleagues sent to her when she left that company to go working somewhere else - "This place won't be the same without you", "You're the best person I've worked with, I'll miss you" - IT MAKES ME SICK! Hasn't she ever heard of platitudes?
Attention Seeking - I know a few people who are guilty of this, and all I have ever wanted to do with them is slap them around the face and tell them to snap out of it. All this telling people how ill you are, how financially bad-off you are, how rough you've had life - take it on the chin! There are people in the world a LOT worse off than you, so stop whinging on about it in public like you're the only person suffering in that way. Life is hard, life is tough, life is crap - adjust! The chances are that when you're whinging about it, there is going to be someone reading it, or listening to it, who IS worse off than you in that part of their lives. Don't try to cheapen that person's own experiences by saying "yes, but this is me, wonderful ME, who is suffering in this way". That is the quickest way to totally alienate yourself from a group of people, because nobody wants to hear your doom and gloom all the time. Leave it out!
