Hello from Kit10ish

New to runboard & have been peeking in here a few times but haveyet to post, until now. Just another unpublished writer & poet looking for insight and constructive criticism, and hopefully some encouragement. Or atleast someone to say, 'Give up, hon! You're not a descent writer and will never make it.'

Like many others, I'm an avid bookworm. Love nature and animals (cats being at the top of that list), music, art, history, religions, and more. Writing is my mode of self expression, and tend to get too wordy. Poetry is something that I find very easy. I've started a few fantasy novels, but have never finished, needing that pat on the back.

I look forward to participating here and meeting others.

hello kit10ish and welcome to the forum. i like the line where you say writing is your mode of self expression that is a perfect way of putting what writing is for most of us.

Re: Hello from Kit10ish

Thank you!

I have always found that my thoughts and feelings are conveyed best through writing, rather than verbally. With writing, you can express what you think and feel without interruption. Keeping journals keeps one more aware of self growth, or stagnation, and even regression.

Writing poetry, to me, is all emotion and feelings, straight from the heart. Any other type of writing must have more thought applied to the process.

I hope I will be a worthy, contributing member here.

Thank you, Elisabeth!

I am slowly going back over sections and adding my own words where I dare.

Last night I spent a lot of the wee hours writing to some of the exercises, which I've yet to post.

Nice to meet you.

Welcome to our madhouse :D :D :D Well, actually I'm probably the only mad one here :D :D :D LOL :D I don't think you'll find many members who are willing to tell you to "Give up hun". They would have a few questions to answer if they did.

Seriously though, we always welcome new members and any type of input that they give so I hope you enjoy your time here as much as we will enjoy having you here.

Mark ;)

(Oh and beware of Spitfire Pilot........that guy's a right nutter) :D :D :D

Re: Hello from Kit10ish

Thank you, Mark. That was a very friendly greeting, and much appreciated. I am looking forward to more interactions here.

Nutters don't bother me at all. Sometimes the nutters are more sane than those who claim to be. :)

As for no one telling me to give up, I really would like input as to whether my attempts are futile in regards to attempting to publish anything. Even if I were to be told, sorry, your writing sucks, I would still write my heart out. Even if I'd be the only one ever reading it.
