Luciano Pavarotti 1935-2007

(Respectfully taken from cnn.com/entertainment)

(CNN) -- Famed opera tenor Luciano Pavarotti, who appeared on stage with singers as varied as opera star Dame Joan Sutherland, U2's Bono and Liza Minnelli, died Thursday in Italy after suffering from pancreatic cancer, manager Terri Robson said in a statement. He was 71.

more photos » "The great tenor, Luciano Pavarotti, died today at 5:00 a.m. at his home in Modena, the city of his birth," according to Robson.

"The Maestro fought a long, tough battle against the pancreatic cancer which eventually took his life. In fitting with the approach that characterized his life and work, he remained positive until finally succumbing to the last stages of his illness."

Opera, and music in general, has lost one of the greatest voices and persons of all time. For all he has meant to millions and millions and all he has touched all over the world, including me, he will be remembered and mourned.

As a headline goes on cnn.com: A tenor for heaven's choir And what a tenor indeed!

May God bring comfort to his family in this time of mourning, and blessed be his soul, as he has blessed so many with his presence and voice.

I'll be honest i'm not a have of Opera, however, if there was one man i had somehow grown to like it was Pavarotti. It's sad news that he has passed away but, he has lived a long fulfilling life and has made many a person happy.
