Re: …
He did it the hard way.... He started well with a knockdown in the first but Collazo was a tricky opponent and kept picking Hatton off with the left jab when ever Hatton went forward...... He'll need to work on his fighting style against the classier opponents, such as Mayweather, De La Hoya and even Gatti.
Collazo never really had the power to trouble Hatton but other oppnents will........ the last round was tough for Hatton too as Collazo must have been conserving energy throughout the fight by not getting dragged into a slugfest as he was unlucky not to KO Hatton.....
I give it a 10/10 for achievement but only a 7/10 for performance......

Re: Sporting Briefs
I would say Collazo was highly underrated, he was the champion after all. Not only that i think the Southpaw style is the only style that, to date, has caused Hatton any trouble. Magee obviously the only fight he was in real danger before Saturday and that was because of the South Paw counter punch style. Also we should remember that was Hatton's first ever fight at Welterweight and it was against the only style he has trouble with. I think Gatti, De La Hoya and Mayweather are beatable by Hatton. Mayweather would be the biggest test but he isn't a counter puncher and i think he would go the way of Tszyu. De La Hoya, I predict, would be the easiest win for Hatton!
I seem to remember De La Hoya has only ever been stopped by body shots, against fighters not renowned for the body punching. I think Hatton De La Hoya would be over very early! Bold prediction but that is how I see it.
But once again, like you said, that was about achievement on Saturday and it was an obstacle he had to get over if he wants those big fights.
