Re: Mission #1 *Valley of the Gnomes*

Rorqale stood still, as if nothing more than a statue, the new member too the quest seemed to be an interesting acquisition, and he is a goblin slayer, which can only be a good thing. But even after looking for several moments at Nevar, it was clear he wasn’t entirely normal…he looked human, but came with an aura…an unusual and unfelt aura that confused Rorqale.

Roqales eyes flicked each time Nevar said the word “Goblin” but he had a fear sweep overhim upon hearing about the secret weapon, for the first time since the group had remerged, Rorqale spoke.

“This weapon, why is it so special...and why do they insist on keeping it a secret?”

Re: Mission #1 *Valley of the Gnomes*

Nevar only shrugged. "It is a catapult. There is nothing special about it. I could only guess that they went to some trouble to aquire it. Perhapes they have special ammo... I truely do not know. Goblins are well skilled in poison techniques, perhapes they ammo itself is made to poison the Gnomes. As I said before... it may just be that they went to trouble to get the actual catapult." Nevar did not see any reason to worry... about the catapult that is.

"Now... you were looking for a step of action yes? I think our first move should be to eliminate the Goblins that are within the valley before we move out. I am sure that the Gnomes can take care of themselves... but in case of an attack we do not want their moral already lowered from skirmishes." Sixty-eight years as a war general and twenty-two years as a legionnaire for different kingdoms had come to good use. If only he could find the secret to removing the neck cuff... then he could show the world true power...

Re: Mission #1 *Valley of the Gnomes*

While Nevar was explaining all this to Aurora he made a slight movement with his hand revealing his long nails that didn't quite fit the human arrangement. His movement toward the group was an interesting motion to say the least. She could see quite plainly that him and Aurora weren’t going to be the best of friends. She wasn't sure she was ether, her senses told her not to trust every thing about him. As well as her mind said that he had not given her a reason on whether or not to trust him. that is what she thought of everyone at some point or anther. She didn't trust anyone in this group, nor was she likely to trust them for a while, but she would need to learn to if they were going into battle with them she was going to have to trust them with her life. That is not something she was used to. She would keep her guard up and see what happens. Hopefully her skills will see her through this journey like before.[i/]

"you said you have no idea where there camp is but you must have an idea. Goblins aren't hard to persuade to tell things if there life is threatened. which I'm sure you did. Well anyways I think we should start traveling north. Other wise we cant get anything done sitting here talking. Agreed?"

Aurora was starting to get mad at this other human. His aura was screaming that he was the one in charge and one who did not like to be told what to do. She knew that he was not telling the group everthing for most Goblins would tell anyone anything the moment that they are catched. Plus Goblins did not get to far away from the camp if they were just scouting.

Human if you wish to make an efforts with this group instead of being in constant conflict you best start telling the truth. As the information would only help the group. With holding information only hurts the mission and group. You are a very untactful person whose military strategy would probably cause a lot of injuries. If we were to take out all the Goblins in this valley it would take years. I propose that we take out the major threat and post a warning for future occurances.

Nevar pulled his arm back from Aurora and covered his nails. He then heard what Wren had said and he turned to her.

"Oh really?" Nevar said, his silver eyes shone mysteriously as he raised his voice. "I suppose you did now that there were only seven Goblins here! And thus leaving would leave the Gnomes in danger! I suppose you thought that they would be safe! Well if so you were mistaken! If we leave, when nightfalls comes, the Goblins will start a skirmish right here in the town! There will be those who are slain and the moral of Gnomes will go from low to slim! You cannot just abandon them! They now depend on us! Do you wish for every man... woman... and child... to be slain all due to your lack of consideration and thought? To have the guilt follow you for your lifetime? To see the images of violated woman and murdered children?..."

Nevar had yelled quite loud and the locals had obviously heard him clearly. They were distured at this. The Gnomes greatly disliked war and bloodshed and Nevar's speech had put them in fear and hatred for him and even more for the Goblins. Nevar turned from the group.

"Humph. Well since you do not need my assistance... I shall leave you be." Nevar said. "I pray for your victory. Good day." Nevar walked off to the local inn leaving the group behind...

Re: Mission #1 *Valley of the Gnomes*

Rorqale shook his head slowly, annoyed that he hadn’t spoken to resolve the conflict between his allies. But Goblins! Whenever they entered a conversation that was it, he lost all sense of control and just wanted to maim, hurt, disfigure and kill the hideous beasts!

Again he shook his head, “Aurora, Wren, come, we must go resolve our argument…” Rorqale stopped and chuckled, and the first real smile to come to the mans face for many years broke across his stern expression like a hammer through glass, “sorry your argument." he chuckled again "I have a strange feeling about this man, I’m not sure if I should be weary of him, or if I should trust him…but I know we need him if we are to succeed…come, to the inn, resolve our disagreement then make haste with the quest. We can’t wait forever for Baldur, he will catch us up I am sure, and you….” Rorqale spun to face the single Gnome who instigated the whole “get-together” and the very being that had nearly been forgotten thus far in the quest “you will help us. Remember we are doing you a favour, and now you can do us one.”

Rorqale took several large strides towards the, now shaking, Gnome! “You Gnomes can’t hide and be afraid forever from these Goblins. This very night, as Nevar has just warned, they will enter this city…and we can’t wait for them, we must head to their encampment and take out the leader Zalug. Once he is gone the Goblins will shatter across the land in small pockets, and even you Gnomes should be able to handle them! But tonight, without us at your side, your kind must defend their city with their lives. Go to your king, tell him of the attack, and prepare the city for war. We,” Rorqale turned to Wren and Aurora and smiled again, “We will go get Nevar, and then head towards the Goblin encampment,” Rorqale gripped the handle to the Tri-Blade and a glimmer came to his eye, he watched as the terrified Gnome scuttled across the city to the kings quarters. And then gestured to Wren and Aurora to lead the way to the inn, where Nevar was waiting.

Re: Mission #1 *Valley of the Gnomes*

Nevar walked towards the inn ignoring the glares he was recieving. He was up to the door preparing to open it when he stopped... Nevar turned and looked around... he then unsheathed his sword and went up to the nearest guard.

"Sound the alarm... they're here." Nevar said and the guard shook but did as he was told. The guard climed a watchtower and took a hammer and banged on a large brass bell. After a few seconds other bells in the city went off. The alarm was raised... the Goblins were in... and Nevar... was going to hunt... and kill... every one of them.

Nevar looked up... it was not yet completely dark... the Goblins may not be starting their attack but he could sense them nearby. Nevar walked around getting closer and closer until he came to a group of seven Gnomes in brown capes which covered them comepletely... These were no Gnomes. Nevar raised his sword and in one swing cut open the capes to reveal the Goblins. All seven scurried in different directions, unsheathing their daggers and their poisonous darts and began attacking the locals. Gnome guards came to defend them but it seemed they were not trained for battle. The Goblins on the other hand seemed very well trained.

Nevar began to chase after one of them. Determined to kill it. Nevar was obviously faster than this Goblin and caught up to him easily. Nevar swung his sword at the Goblin. To Nevar's surprise the Goblin simply blocked with its dagger and stabbed Nevar with one of it's poisonous darts. Nevar flinched in pain and pulled back while taking another strike at the Goblin.

The Goblin began throwing a few darts at Nevar. Nevar blocked each with his sword as the Goblin seemed to be winning due to the poison now in Nevar's body was affecting his concentration. Nevar took a swing at the Goblin and with a stroke of luck sliced the Goblin's left lower arm off. The Goblin sheeked in pain and stepped back. Nevar took another swing vertically at the Goblin and without his dagger which had been in his left hand... he was sliced in half.

Nevar fell to his knees in pain. Just fighting one Goblin had been difficult... there were still six more to go. Nevar struggled to get to his feet with the help of his sword. And he made his way as quickly as he could to where the other Goblins could possibly be.

Re: Mission #1 *Valley of the Gnomes*

Shira heard the sound of bells coming from within the city. Her curiosity led her to the excitement, and she immediately took notice of a man with long blonde hair. He was fighting off what appeared to be goblins. Shira’s heart nearly stopped as she got a closer look at him. This man resembled her lost love, and his skills with the sword were a match as well. She sensed he was growing weak. Something was wrong with him and she wanted to help, but she remained out of site where it was safe.

Wren looked up in time to see the goblins scatter in front of her. She then turned to the 'human' that had just left the group she saw the hits he tool and recognized the signs of the poison that had been injected to his body. Seeing this she could not stand much longer.

"Aurora, Roquale go and help Nevar I'm going to catch a couple that went this way."

She ran in side a near by house and talked to one of the Gnomes. She told him what medicines she would need to be prepared before the battle was over. The Gnome agreed and she was off.

When she exited the house all of her now companions were in battle with the Goblins. A second later she felt a throwing dagger cut open her calf on the right leg. With this she responded, now driven by the pain she felt. She took out her daggers and pinned this particular Goblin up agents the wall and went for the one hiding in the bushes. The second Goblin ended up with it head cut clean off its body with her short sword which was now covered in blood.

Nevar saw as the fighting continued. The poison was getting to him... but he had to keep fighting. Nevar took charge at one of the Goblins and knocked it to the ground and sliced it's chest open as it gasped for breath but died...

Nevar saw another Goblin charge some Gnome children... he would not let them die. He held out his hand and a burst of fire came from it and made a wall between the Goblin and the children preventing it's passage. the fired dimmed and Nevar chased after the Goblin until it ran out of the town.

Nevar walked to the square... he sensed two remaining Goblins... Nevar felt tremendous pain in him and fell to the ground. He laid on his back breathing hard... darkness was coming to him as the poison brought him to death... Nevar tried not to close his eyes... but he would not last much longer...
