Role-Play Tutorial

**RPG Tutorial**

-Step one: Design a character. Use description.

EXAMPLE

Name: Nevar
Age: ???
Sex: Male
Race: Dragon (Human, elf, dwarf, dragon, halfling, etc.)
Class: No class (Warrior, archer, sword master, etc.)
Height: 6ft 1
Weight: 200lbs (muscular)

Description: Nevar appears human with graceful, tidy long golden hair which goes down to his waist, the only sign that he may perhaps not be human is his silver eyes or his oddly long nails which are actually his claws. Nevar wears a black tunic along with a long flowing hooded black cape. There is a strange silver neck cuff with a sapphire around his neck. He wears a silver belt in which is his leather sheath that holds his sword. Nevar’s sword is a long silver sword with a highly decorative hilt, this sword has been enchanted many, many times over the years and holds secrets that Nevar has no interest in as of yet. Nevar prefers to be in his human form and alone at most times since that is how he is used to it. Nevar has strength, agility, and a cunning mind although not much more strength or agility then that of a strong human. Nevar has magical abilities but prefers to not use them in battle that often. (PLEASE put detail into it.)

Dragon description: Very large beast with gold and silver scales, a long tail that has no special feature, wings that glimmer like diamond, dragon ears which go back and a golden horn in the middle of his forehead. (NOT needed but this character is a dragon and therefore needs a dragon description.)

History: Nevar is most likely one of the most powerful dragons in the world, although he has taken a liking to humans so he mimics them in his human form. He had never lived with other dragons since he had been abandoned before his birth. Nevar had been killed many times but each time had revived on his own. He is immortal although not invincible just yet. Nevar does not seek power in his dragon form, he wishes to live as a human and forget his dragon self. And a bad experience helped him along with this: when he was younger a wizard put a magic cuff around his neck that would prevent him from transforming into a dragon and thus he is as a normal mortal. Nevar wanders the world all his life never ceasing until he find a place to call his home. (Please include SOME inside on your character. Leave some secrets if you wish but give us some idea of their past.)

Notice how much detail was put into it. That is how to create a good character. Have a great description and an interesting history.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Step two: Know the plot. Follow the plot and continue on in the plot in a smooth flowing pattern.
EXAMPLE
Player 1: Titan felt his fist shake as he punched the pillar causing the ceiling above to collapse above Amanda.
Player 2: Amada went picking flowers and went home and baked a cake before finally running over her little brother with a futuristic car.
That is a big NO!
Player 1: Titan felt his fist shake as he punched the pillar causing the ceiling above to collapse above Amanda.
Player 2: Amanda took leap from her current position and ran as fast as her legs could carry her through the dungeon.
That is a YES!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-Step three: Format. Format is important to make the RPG seem as if it were a real story…

EXAMPLE

I ran like a pig.

That is a NO! It has to be third person!

Iris ran like a pig.

That is a YES!

When the character is speaking you use “”s and ’’s for thoughts. You check your spelling and grammar over. You make sure it follows and that it makes sense. You never ever use god mode which is when you control everything or make use of another person’s character.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Step four: NEVER use or do anything to another player’s character.
EXAMPLE
Mike shot John in the heart and he died.
This is a NO!
Mike took aim at John’s heart and fired.
This is a YES!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-Step five: Detail! Always put as much detail as possible into the writing.

EXAMPLE

Lucy hit Max and ran.

That is a NO!

Lucy took hold of a wooden bat and took swing at Max striking him in the head. She quickly got up and ran as her life was depending all on it and the time that her legs could hold.

That is a YES!

Please follow this tutorial and the RPG format which has been set.
