Misson #3: *Regained Companionship*

Nevar sat high on a rock looking over a great plain where his army had set up camp. On the rock he sat on not far from him was a huge bonfire which Nevar made sure kept lit so that it would hopefully attract the attention of the others in which he had departed from; though he wasn't exactly in the spot in which he had left the group but he was still very close to it.
For the first time Nevar held the sword in which he had been seeking, though it was in a bronze chest which was locked. Nevar had the key but he still had yet to open the chest and he decided it would be best to wait for the others to come and then open it. He felt a bit uneasy; the army claimed him to be the last royal of Tirith and their prince... but he had given up those titles and priviledges long ago and now it was hard for it to sink in properly.
Lune of course was off on her own, standing at the very top of the rock constantly in her Goddess form watching over the men, protecting them from the minions of Crake and Saquan yet she grew weaker every day from the tides of war. She was a Goddess, Nevar claimed her to be the Goddess of Peace and Lune went along with it: he simply had no other title for her. She was a hope for good and a light to guild the rightous in the darkness. She was extremely pacifist and kept her views on obtaining a peaceful future. Some could claim her to be the Goddess of Peace while others may claim her to be the Goddess of Hope or Kindness, the list could continue but as long as Lune made no claim to any of it then it remained shrowded in mystery. Perhapes she was all, perhapes she was none.

The chill in the air made Nevar feel in his own way terrified. He had left Crake as a traitor and would be returning as an opponent with a weapon that could kill him for good. Lune encouraged him that he was doing the right thing, but he had his doubts and even the thoughts of returning to Crake as a loyalist and therefore join forces with him. Thoughts both tainted and pure wandered Nevar's mind that night, never did he know so much lack of sleep.

The shadows behind Lune stirred as the silhouette of a man began to take form in the darkness. At first nothing but a rough outline of a slender frame could be distinguished as Adyian observed the astounding woman cautiously. Caution was Adyian’s nature. It was how he had survived for so long, it was what had allowed him to walk away from so many battles and the reason his opponents never did.

Adyian pondered quietly to himself as he watched her, what am I doing here? He knew why he was here though. It was the shadows inside of him he loathed that had compelled him to seek this woman out. Weary from the eternal struggle to keep the restless demon within him at bay, he decided to adopt a new approach and attempt to satisfy it's hunger. Maybe then, he hoped, they would let him rest.

Several minutes passed and he allowed his human form to take full appearance. Adyian was an attractive man. Standing a little over six feet tall, his eyes were a dark shade of blue and his hair was black, sporting streaks of grey that complemented the sharp features of his face and gave him a reserved countenance.

Adyian’s depths of blue pierced through Lune as he shot her a glance, measuring her up in his mind. He still hadn’t decided what he was doing here, but his right hand moved instinctively to the hilt of the dagger sheathed at his waist. His slender digits resting firmly around the dagger, he paused to consider his situation. He wasn’t a murderer; he knew that, but the demon inside demanded of him to finish what he had brought Adyian here to do.

Adyian closed his eyes. He wished he could have been stronger, that he could have resisted the evil inside of him longer. But he knew he couldn’t do it anymore. Tired and strung out, he gave in to what lurked inside of him, releasing it on the world.

His eyes reopened but they were no longer the same. Changed from blue to black, they narrowed into a malicious glare directed toward the woman in front of him. It became clear to him what had to be done. This woman stood for everything the demon inside of Adyian abhorred, her existence needed to be put to an end.

Without a second thought, Adyian pulled the dagger from its sheath and sent it sailing through the air on a collision course with Lune’s back.

"Oh please." Nevar said and snatched the dagger in mid-air as if knowing of the attacker the entire time. Lune however, was unphased as she stood with her eyes closed and the wind gently moved her robes. Nevar landed and looked back at Lune, wondering why she didn't even bother to move.
Lune finally turned around and she looked at the man, her eyes glimmered in the moon light and her Goddess entity reflected in them. She looked right into the depths of the attacker's heart and soul and even into the corners of the shadow.
On the other hand Nevar wasn't looking but he was taking action as he drew his sword and stood ready to strike the attacker down if he made any other attempt to strike Lune or himself or even any of his men.
"Who the hell are you? And why are you attacking the Goddess Lune?" Nevar demanded. "Speak quickly or I will take your head."
